Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing
Finally found a founcation that matches my skin tone, is easy to blend, and doesn't look like makeup. The coverage is buildable, so a person can adjust accordingly to how much, how little, etc. This stayed on well,too. The light beige color matched my fair skin perfectly.

I have to say that at first I was surprised that the bottle was so small...especially since it was not cheap. However, I soon found out that a little goes a long way with this product. I love it! It blends in very nicely and has buildable coverage. It feels very light and smooth and looks "natural". I can't believe that it took me so long to find this product...but I'm glad that I did! Will definitely purchase again.

Quick Take: buildable coverage
Upon reading the reviews and seeing You Tube videos on this I had to try it. I suffer from adult acne, the kind that NEVER goes away. So I was in the market for something that covered up my spots and was not completely matte. I was extremely disappointed that not only did my acne compltely show through but even concealer under and above the foundation still would not hide the marks. I ended up having to purchase a color correcting formula to wear underneath which does help. However, I will not be purchasing this again.

AMAZING NATURAL LOOKING FOUNDATION

i tried so many different foundations, both high ends and drugstores, and this foundation is one of my all time favorites. i'd say this is comparable to chanel's vitalumiere aqua. little goes long way (very pigmented!) and i use tiny amounts to even out my skin tone and on my cheeks and forehead (where i need more coverage) i apply another layer and it gives me an extra coverage without looking cakey or it doesn't even look like i'm wearing a foundation! (which i absolutely LOVE about this foundation). the difference between this foundation and vitalumiere aqua is that this is definitely more buildable foundation. you can create from a light to full coverage. it feels light on my skin and it's a long lasting foundation. even when it wears off at the end of the day, it doesn't oxidize, but it just disappears, which i prefer much more than looking darker or ashy. this is my new HG foundation! i love!!

I am SO HAPPY that I tried this foundation! I have probably tried every brand at least once! This is SO MUCH better than overadvertised, celebrity promoted, brands! It is so lightweight but the coverage is super! I have combination skin with occasional breakouts and very large pores on nose and cheek areas near nose. I am always looking for coverage without the cakey, thick look! This is that FOUNDATION! Soft finish, more matte than dewey, but so Refining! When I look at my face with this on I think my skin looks truly, truly Refined! It really helps my pores disappear which I consider my biggest complexion problem! It's not drying (doesn't make lines apparent like liquid foundations do, but not oily either). Even though I don''t look my age this makes me look younger and I feel SO MUCH more confident in how I look! Please Shiseido never, discontinue this (at least while I am alive)! I will never ever purchase a different foundation as long as they keep making this. It is the VERY BEST! I could list all of the other more expensive well known brands that do not come close to this one, but if it isn't Shiseido's Refining Foundation then it's not worth my $$$!!! I also use the Translucebnt Pressed Powder, fabulous with this! I will submit my review for that separately

This is a beautiful foundation for normal to oily skin. It covers imperfections but does not look mask-like. It immediately dries down after you apply it, but it does not make your skin look dry.

I really like this foundation, but it sets a little powdery for me. Also, not much range in colors. The O40 is too light for my NC30 skin tone. The 60 will probably be too dark. Lastly, it did make my skin tingle slightly. I wanted it to work for me but it didn't. But, I did like it. I'm sure it might work out better for other. Maybe someone with oily skin.

I have combination skin and I love this foundation. I was using nars sheer glow but my T zone was a bit too oily for that so I decided to try this and I'm stunned by the feel and coverage of it. All I use is a drop and it covers one whole side of my face. I will be purchasing this one again for winter. I love it!!! :)

After breaking out over Christmas break I decided to change up my beauty regime. And this was one of the products I purchased. I read multiple reviews and googled all types of foundation. This is truly a magic eraser. Sun spots, uneven skin tone, and pore problems were my weakness. But everything seems to look and feel less BIG or magnified with this product. I've always had great olive skin when I was younger and this makes me feel 16 again! Give it a try, you will love!! I do

Perfect Coverage

I got matched to the very light ivory (1 00) for my fair skin. I have a lot of redness due to acne medications so I was concerned this would not be able to cover adequately. I absolutely love this foundation. It has the perfect amoung of coverage, just enough to cover imperfections, but not too much where it looks cakey. I have a few acne spots and dark circles under my eyes and this buffs on really well with a flat top brush to make my skin look even and smooth. I was also surprised by it's pretty good oil control on my combination skin. I just set it with my Shiseido loose power and I only have to blot with my oil sheets once or twice a day to keep it looking good. The foundation also stays put throughout the day which is great. Definitely a good product for the price.

This foundation is great for everyday use. Overall it has light-medium coverage but somehow it manages to cover scars really well. I have very oily skin and this is the only dewy finish foundation that i like. The wear is not very long lasting - 6-8 hours and redness peeks through - but the other benefits outweigh this one minor con.
About the shade. Its hard for me to find a color that fits my skintone because my skin is medium with warm and olive tones. I use ochre 40 which looks so light out of the bottle, but once blended the color blends into my skin perfectly!
This can be difficult to apply if you have the wrong tool. It dries really quickly and can look patchy if you dont blend fast enough. I use a stippling brush and apply with my fingers to one area, blend with the brush and continue allover, doubling up wherever i need it.
I love this for the winter but this will probably be too dewy for me in the summer.

So you get less product for the same price as most brands. This is not full coverage but it does help with my dry skin. Its also very light on so you don't feel like your skin is dying underneath.

I am prone to breakouts, have combo skin, hard to match olive skin and cant stand the feel of heavy foundation.
This foundation is perfect. I found a great match in O60 Natural deep Ochre, it provides medium coverage with a featherweight feel, it blends seamlessly (but you need to work fast as it does dry up quite quickly) and it adds a luminosity to my skin (but it's not shiny or greasy!).

I’m really surprised by the negative reviews of this foundation! I have very, very sensitive skin – I’ve had chemical burns from foundations before, because my skin is so sensitive – this is the only foundation that does not cause a bad reaction with my skin. I also really like the coverage –it’s a very buildable formula, so you can thin it out for light coverage or build up to full coverage. If you’ve got oily skin, you’re going to want to set it with a powder. However, I do not have oily skin, so I can put it on without setting it and it lasts all day. As far as the reviews of it drying too quickly, it does dry rather fast, but if your skin has been properly moisturized you should be able to blend it out easily – you just need to work in small sections at a time versus putting small dots allover then going back to blend it out. What I like best about Shiseido is their wide range of very fair colors – no other brand has such a variety of ultra-fair shades, especially for neutral skin tones. The only thing I dislike about this product is the packaging - it’s pretty much impossible to tell when the product is almost out, so I just keep a backup bottle around for when I do run out.

I personnaly don not like this .I am 46 great skin i wanted a coverage where u could build on it. This stuff u have to work very quickly it dries fast and u cant build its very matty looking. I will try to mix a moisturizer like lakar with it and get back asap.

This foundation was a bit too oily for me. I have been searching for a winter tone that would also help with my ance and I wanted to try something different, but this foundation was not what I was looking for. I would look into Stila's or Bobbi Brown's foundations instead.

This is very good foundation ! I use this with shiseido brusth and it gives me the smooth look. I´m always asked what i have on my face cause is so glowing. My skin is ok but without this foundation i have a few unperfections ;) This is great for skin that has problems with acne and is also a little bit dry on some places. :)
