poor eyeliner, good mascara

I got this mostly to try the eyeliner, but within a week, the felt tip dried out. I tried pressing down on the tip against the back of my hand to get the ink flowing. Eventually, I felt like it was dragging my eyelids! Ouch! Also, it would wear off by the mid afternoon if i would tear up just a little. The mascara is great at lengthening, but my review will remain low due to the eyeliner.

The mascara is AMAZING! I have eyelashes in the corner it brings out, which is hard to do with my eyes. It only takes one application and BAM, you have eyelashes! The eyeliner is great too. It stays on all day.

Not what I was hoping

I have heard of the Eyeko products from a couple of YouTube beauty gurus. One, in particular, loves and raves about the Eyeko Skinny Brush mascara. On a recent trip to Sephora, I saw this duo near the checkout, and thought it seemed like a fair price, and worth trying.
The mascara is in an interesting packaging- what I would consider to be a squeeze style tube with the mascara wand screwed in to the top. I assume this would work great when you're getting down to the bottom of the product, you could squeeze the tube and get the last of it onto the wand. However, I find the formula of the mascara to be especially "crispy" and drying. And while the wand itself is "skinny", the bristles are also much more sparse than I prefer. I love a large, full mascara wand (think: DiorShow). I felt this brush missed most of my lashes, so I had to go back in several times and try to "wiggle" it into and between my lashes. It did seem well suited for the lower lashline, however. And the eyeliner was just awful. It's a felt tip style marker, and mine was quite dry. In fact, I felt like I was getting nearly no product transfer. I thought maybe it was just not "primed" (due to packaging and sitting on the shelf), so I shook it up some, ran it across the back of my hand, etc. That helped some, but I never felt like I got a good, strong, well pigmented line. It tugged a dragged across my eyelid, and I felt the line was patchy and faint, even upon going over it more than once. I tried to do a winged line, and struggled because I couldn't get it to deposit enough pigment to make a decent wing. I ended up having to go over it with my usual liner. I am seriously considering taking this set back for a refund, because I know I won't use it again.

I bought this product only because I had a separate liner and mascara in my hands and decided a set would be a smarter choice. I tried it the very next day, and I was so impressed by both the mascara and eyeliner. The mascara made my lashes, which are extremely short, look amazing. And the eyeliner was as black as could be, and very precise. But I've only been able to use the eyeliner once more, because it dried out somehow. I've never left the top off or kept it open for too long, I make sure to shake it before use.. It's just not good. The mascara however, works amazing still.

Quick Take: portable, good value
I bought this mainly for the eyeliner because I wanted to try it! Turn's out I didn't like the eyeliner but I LOVED the mascara! It surprisingly separated my lashes and made them full! It works really well and I thought it wouldn't because the brush is kinda wierd. I still use the eyeliner but not as often because it hurts when I apply it due to the tip being so hard. :/

I really like the eyeliner. Easy to apply, even for the "eyeliner challenged" like myself. Not too sure about the mascara yet. Maybe once I get the hang of the brush I will really like it.

Quick Take: not worthwhile
I tried the mascara wnd did not like the brush at all. It applied in thick clumps and looked awful. I didn't bother with the eyeliner after that, and returned the set.

The mascara dissapoints

Quick Take: portable, clumpy
The eyeliner is pretty good: fine tip, very pigmented, and goes on easily. The wear can be better. Having monolids, I see smudging after about 3 hrs. Overall I'd say it's a better than average pen eyeliner.
The mascara is what's bringing the rating down. The bristles of the brush form a screw shape, and huge amount of mascara just sit there in the grove. The brush makes it impossible to evenly coat & separate the lashes. I've tried wiping away the excess, but there's just too much mascara on the brush and not enough bristles, so my sparse lashes always end up clumped together.
I don't know if the full-sized mascara would be any better, but I'm really not a fan of the brush design.

Quick Take: easy to apply, eyeliner is too light, ok for touch ups
I bought this since I was about to buy the full sized eyeliner and spotted this little set at check out. Better to buy something smaller first just in case you aren't sold on it. I'm not completely sold on the eyeliner. I'm not usually a fan of liquid felt pens, but this was recommended by a Sephora employee. Still not really seeing what I'd like from it. The color isn't as dark on the application as it should be. The mascara isn't something I'd purchase on it's own. It's great for touch ups maybe, but to use alone? Nope. Kinda glad I only bought the travel sized kit now! At least I'm not out more money for something I felt didn't really deliver the results I was hoping for.

I really like this duo! The mascara is great and the eyeliner leaves a nice, thin line. The one problem is the eyeliner thinning out fast...I've only used it three times and it already has lost a lot of it's color.

Quick Take: eyeko eyeline
The eyeliner is terrific if you like your eyeliner to dry upon application! I have a monolid so this is great to have an eyeliner that dries right away before my lid touches it.
However I think they should make a better cap for this. I travelled with this and the cap kept coming off - it dried up faster than I got good use out of it!

I have been trying to find stuff that works and this is it at least for the eyeliner the mascra isn't bad but my lashes are heavy and thick so the stay perfect for a tiny bit but within an hour they start to come down :(

You get two products in a travel size, but they are only little smaller than the original size. Great price to try out both products. Mascara is great for separating and natural looking lashes. The eyeliner stays on all day, jet black, felt tip but dries out fast. :(

Quick Take: long lasting, smudge proof
Frankly, I bought this duo so I could finish out a gift card I'd received. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing this due is, especially for the small price! The eyeliner is a deliciously deep black and WILL NOT BUDGE. This lasted me almost 12 hours and there was zero dark transfer to my eyelid crease, which I usually experience with eyeliners. The mascara is also shockingly budge proof. Even with my Ponds (which takes off everything) it took time to get the mascara to budge. It really needs just water! It not only holds a curl but it was able to curl my lashes without using an eyelash curler. My only con for the mascara is that WAY too much product comes out on the wand due the the large opening, so you have to scrape most of it off on the edges to avoid major clumping. I'm hoping this will get better as the formula dries out a bit.

Quick Take: portable, good value, amazing pigmentation
I first got to try this eyeko eyeliner in my january birchbox and when I tried it I fell in love with it, I'm usually very picky about the eyeliners I use but this one got me hooked right away. with Its pigmentation, its tiny thin point, it lasts me the whole day and its easy to take off in the end. It has replaced my current eyeliner at the moment. I went to Sephora just to go buy a backup one. The tiny mascara it comes with is a bonus too its cute and a good mascara too not my favorite but good. Both great for travel size too. I'd recommend it t anyone looking for a good liquid eyeliner.
