T3 BodyWaver 1.75" Professional Curling Iron

What it is: A professional curling iron with a hollow barrel design, unique radial technology, and ergonomic handle to easily create volume, define waves, and enhance shine with the ease of a pro stylist. What it does: Conventional curling irons use a single heater that runs through the middle of the barrel. It heats the barrel unevenly resulting in temperature fluctuations, which means waves don’t set and hair is damaged due to over-styling. The BodyWaver has a hollow tourmaline ceramic barrel that features new T3 SinglePass™ Radial Technology. This unique innovation incorporates a ring of ceramic heaters that deliver consistent, even, allover heat to every part of the barrel. No matter what your hair length or texture, the BodyWaver will give you fast, flawless, professional-level styling, without causing damage. What else you need to know: -This product is ideal for straight, wavy, curly, fine, coarse, color-treated, and chemically treated hair. -The 1.75” tourmaline- and ceramic-infused barrel creates big, polished, voluminous waves that shine with health. -The Ionic element seals the hair cuticle while creating shiny, smooth waves. -SinglePass Radial Technology maintains a consistent temperature over the barrel for even, all-over styling that never over- or under-heats hair or causes damage. -Hollow Barrel Design is a unique design that allows heat to disperse evenly and consistently from the outside of the barrel, instead of from the inside as with typical curling irons. -Five-position Temperature Dial to 410 F perfectly styles all hair types and textures. -A slim ergonomic handle, cool tip, and stand enables fast, effortless styling. -A nine-foot, 360 swivel cord prevents cord from getting tangled or twisted. -One-hour shut-off provides worry-free styling. -Two-year warranty offers comprehensive coverage, telephone support, and repair options.

Va-va-voom Volume
-05.14.13
Quick Take: volumizing, wave maker
I love this iron! If you're looking for curls it probably isn't the tool for you you but if you're like me with fine flat straight hair and want "I just got a blow-out from the salon" volume--this is a god send. Very quickly, this iron gives my below shoulder length hair great volume and a little bit of wave which lasts into the second day with the use of heat styling spray. I use the heat resistant mat that came with my Sultra Bombshell and don't have any issues with it rolling off the vanity or being unstable.

At-Home Blow Out
-05.10.13
Quick Take: volumizing, necessity
As a woman who has a full arsenal of flattening, curling, barrel, and volumizing irons, I think this is my new favorite. It is unique in that it doesn't give you the same look as other traditional curling irons; it's more similar to a blow out using a round brush. I was able to achieve full curls, big waves, and high volume with this iron! I can see how some other reviewers are complaining about it not curling, but this iron is almost 2" people. Come on. If you need defined curls, you'll have to grab a barrel that's about 1"-1 1/2" (or smaller if you have shorter hair).
I use this iron to add volume around my roots and it does a FANTASTIC job! My hair looks like something out of a Victoria's Secret catalog and is comparable to a professional blowout...and it takes me five minutes. I am definitely keeping this one and will recommend it to all of my family and friends!

Thank God for Sephora's return policy...
-05.07.13
Complete waste of money. My hair falls flat as soon as I release the iron from my hair. I've tried on clean hair and dirty hair- it doesn't matter. Today I coated every section in hairspray and it lasted about 20 minutes. Now my hair is flat with frizzy ends. Can't return this soon enough!

more smoothing than curling
-04.26.13
Quick Take: expensive and delivers only so-so results
because the barrel is so wide, the iron smoothed my hair (which is mid-chest length and has nice body) but didn't really curl. The end result was smooth waves, but the ends especially appeared really quite flat. I've had it about 2 weeks and still have hopes that I'll figure out how to make it work best for me. Certainly this won't be replacing either my 1.5" barrel as hoped; which while just a drug-store cheapie, still makes a lot nicer curls than the t-3. It just depends on what you're looking for... smooth waves but no curls has been my experience.

Does not curl hair

This curling iron does not curl mid-length hair! Very disappointed. I will be returning this product and I have never returned anything to Sephora before!

Works for my coarse, dry hair
-04.24.13
I have long, very thick, very coarse dry hair so I need heating tools that heat up past 400 degrees as they are the only ones that will affect my hair and work for me and I am very glad I found this curling iron. I have been happy with the results.
I use the highest heat setting and it works well, giving the volume and bouncy waves, it will not give you ringlets and it's more waves and flip and body that it gives, which it states.
It is bulky and as some posts state hard to get to stand still (I have overcome this by just setting it down carefully) but it does the job great and works on my hair to manage my mane. I also didn't have problems with the clamp being too tight and it slid carefully and easily over my hair which was great because then it straightens the part I slide it down and waves the ends, which was what I was going for when I don't want to fully flat iron. It doesn't get caught in my hair and the tip stays cool for me to put my fingers on and hold.
I would recommend but it is probably better for people with really thick, hard to manage hair, like me.

Not something I'd use again
-04.09.13
Quick Take: awful, heavy, expensive
I think this curling iron is just awful. I started it off on the middle heat setting, and it gave off a horrible burnt plastic smell. As many others have stated, the clamp is tight and leaves dents in the hair. The middle setting was also too hot for me as it actually started burning my hair after only a few seconds. After styling, my hair looked the way it normally does when I blow dry it. It didn't save me any time, and the curls went straight after a few hours, despite using styling lotions and sprays.
Also, beware: when I purchased this at a Sephora in NYC, a "Curling Iron Specialist" at the store told me the silver ring in the middle of the iron turns, so you don't have to rotate the whole iron, just that one spot. This turned out to be a big lie. It's just a stand, nothing more. Again, as others have mentioned, the curling iron rolls around and doesn't stay put on a flat surface, so that ornamental stand doesn't even do its real job.
The curling iron itself quite big, heavy and cumbersome. I'm going back to my cheaper drug store curling irons that actually work the way they're supposed to. At $150, I really expected something exceptional, and was terribly disappointed. I could not wait to return this curling iron.

Failed my expectations :/
-04.03.13
Quick Take: pricey
I have thin straight hair past my shoulders. thought that it's going to be a good curler to curl my ends and give my hair more volume. First of all the clamp is so tight that it's almost impossible to slide it down your hair without reopening it and it left indents all over my hair. Doesn't lie properly on my sink or counter no matter how I place it. Kept rolling around and almost falling on the floor. My hair fell flat in about 2 hours and some ends started to look straight after a while as well. Expected more from such a pricey curling iron! Definitely returning!

Overprice and so so results
-03.25.13
Quick Take: t3 bodywaver 1.75" professional curling iron
I have a very long hair that touches my waistline with a lot of layers. I was very excited to use it but so disappointed with the results. The curls didn't last for 2 hours. The barrel is too short that it keeps catching my hair. I will return the product and go back to my old standby flat iron to do my curls, which last for more than 3 days straight!

Good choice
-03.13.13
Unfortunately, I do not have "wash and go" hair. Instead, my long hair - when air dried - looks like Ozzy Osbourne and Eddie Van Halen had a love child. NOT a good look.
This iron heats evenly and provides waves and bounce for the in-between of not wanting to straighten or go too curly, and other curling irons that are too small, and do not or cannot heat long hair evenly. It also seals and shines, so my fuzzy head looks nice.

Good iron, but pricey.
-03.11.13
This iron does just what it says: creates loose waves and body, and it does a great job.
The iron heats up fast and has five heat settings. I have only gone up to the middle heat setting and my waves last all day.
As previous reviews mention, the clip is strong, but I am easily able to avoid a crease in my hair by rotating the iron slightly before I put my hair under the clip so it doesn't hit my hair at an angle.
The stand works fine and I don't have problems with the iron rolling around. You just have to carefully place it down.
All in all it is a great, though pricey, iron for doing what it says. However, I am not convinced that my cheap drugstore iron - if it were 1-3/4 inch - wouldn't do just as good of a job.

Defective Design
-03.06.13
This curling iron has a defective design. The top piece (which you hold so you do not burn your hands) has broken off twice when I have set the curling down. This happened both times in the first 30 days of purchase. The first one I returned. The second one I glued and am hoping it holds. The curling iron itself works well.

Badly designed, mediocre results.
-02.23.13
I looked far and wide for a large barrel curling iron that would seal the cuticle and was excited when I found this iron. After using it for 2 weeks I have to say I'm surprised it got out of user testing. Beyond not doing much for my hair there are several serious design flaws. 1) The iron rolls all over the counter, sounds small but was really annoying. 2) The clip is far to tight making it difficult to get a curl without a clip mark. 3) The tip of the iron is part of the non-functional stand that makes removing barreled curls difficult. 4) The bejeweled temperature control was clunky & not intuitive. Sadly it wasn't much better on the hair front. The curl/wave simply didn't hold. It did a good job on volume at the root, but the rest of my hair was nothing special. I've been using a Sultra iron for years and compared to how quick, effective & easy that is to use this was awkward and took almost twice the time. T3 should focus on the functional aspects of this product and ditch the design flourishes.

New to curling and so in love!
-02.23.13
I've used this for about 2 weeks and loooove the look. The first time I curled, I kinda messed up just because I didn't know how to hold it (direction, time, etc.) but I now can't live without it. I have thick, long, slightly coarse hair and the curler makes it bouncy and shiny; I love the second day and third day look of it too. Put your hair in a bun with a clip in it when sleeping and wake up to even better curls than day 1. Great time saver.

OMG
-02.13.13
This curling iron is amaze! It made my super fine hair smooth with lots of body. This is not a normal curling iron and it really doesn't make the hair curly at all. However it is possible to obtain more curl depending on what technique you use. Also, you don't use it like a normal curling iron- at least not the way I usually do. You first run it down the entire length if the section you're curling, then you roll it up back toward the scalp. Seriously it took me about 15 minutes to do my whole head and it looks better than when I spend an hour blowing it out section by section. Check out the videos online that show you how to use this- if you're a fine haired girl like me, this truly is a game-changer!

Not working for me
-02.08.13
It's beautiful curling iron that attracted me to buy it, but once I curled my hair, it doesn't do anything good for my hair. It's just like any other curling irons that does the same as this. Had to return it.

its a good WAVER
-02.07.13
Quick Take: does what it says, well made, not heavy
I don't own any curling iron and am very very bad at using it. burned myself few time that one time i used my friend's. but when i saw this i thought i really want it. I like my hair wavy which add more body and also seem very polished (the salon finish). The iron does not seem heavy to me at all... and i have not burned myself yet. i don't think it will give you a lot of curls as many people "expected" it to do... cause its called BodyWaver... not BodyCurler? so if its wave you want... then this is a good purchase (and if you are strong enough to hold up 1/2 lb over your head for few minutes).

LOVE IT!
-02.05.13
If this iron is used correctly, it's a game changer! I actually got a demonstration from a T3 stylist during an in store Sephora promotion which gave me some great tips. It's hard to explain, but you need to start the barrel close to the scalp, wrap the hair around and feed it through. Also when u release it, hold the curl up with your hand for a few seconds while it cools to help it hold longer. I don't love how it kind of rolls around on the counter if u don't set it just right, but given the results, I'll get over it. I've used every kind of curling iron and waver, and this one in my opinion is the best so far. It gives salon volume, shine, and curls-I LOVE it!
