SEPHORA COLLECTION Perfect Manicure

What it is:A clever tool for protecting your nails and skin during polish application. What it does:Paint bold, beautiful color on your nails not the skin around your nail. This quick accessory allows you to apply polish without leaving a trace elsewhere. Perfect for nails of all lengths and with any polish, and an ideal companion for creating a hot French manicure.

Didn't work as well as expected. Better for those with long nails maybe.

Best tool for painting nails
-05.07.13
Quick Take: great
I just use a gel nail and have very short nails because I'm cleaning for a job right now. This tool allows me to get good coverage from base to tip. I was repainting my nails weekly, now it's every other week.

just okay

Works if you can get it under your nail-- I find it's a little too stiff to get it situated properly and it works better on longer nails. I might try bending the metal to form better over my nails, but it is almost useless as it is. :(

Finally!!!
-04.24.13
Quick Take: perfect manicure
I've been wanting something to do this job for years!!! I do my own nails and I need help especially with my right hand. If my nails were a little longer it would work better but for the price it's a great little helper.

Great for Shellac manicure
-04.17.13
Quick Take: unique
I've been doing CND Shellac manicures at home for a few months but I've had a problem getting the right amount of product to seal the edges of my nails. This tool finally makes it possible for me to get the product on the nails without getting too much on my skin. It's been a godsend.

great little nail tool
-04.11.13
this deceptively simple nail tool is great. It helps stabilize your nail by having something to lean on and protects the skin around the nail from polish mishaps. Especially helpful for the polish done with my non-dominant hand.

Finally
-03.17.13
Quick Take: useful, a money saver
I can't understand why everyone is giving this instrument such bad reviews??? I think this isntrument is the best thing out there and for the cost of a manicure-this is the nest best thing. Gave myself the best maniucre with this and saved myself money. Put your fingernail over the metal lip and make sure your nail has some length to it and maybe just maybe...this item will get better reviews :)

Wish I thought of this. I'm not an amateur nail painter, but even so, this works really well. Not so much touching up afterward. Thumbs up. & for $7 u can't go wrong-try it

Finally!!
-02.22.13
I have never ever been able to paint my nails without getting it everywhere. This simple little tool has put an end to years of frustration. To avoid getting polish on the sides I put the corners of my nail up over the metal. Voilà! Fast and easy polish application. Might not work for all but I hope this tip can help some.

not so much
-02.03.13
I'm not really sure how this is supposed to work. I used it and still got polish off to the sides of my nails. It kept it off the ends of my fingers, I guess, until I pulled my finger out too soon and the drips on the front "lip" got on my skin. Neat idea, but it still seems easier to go without it.

Not worth the money
-01.31.13
In an effort to save money, I'm trying to do my nails at home more often. I was already purchasing some other Sephora tools when I cam upon this one. It seemed like a great solution to the issue of steadying the hand and preventing smudges. The lip of the product was very uncomfortable when I tried to fit my nail on it and, like a previous reviewer, it didn't stay put on the table. Patients while doing your nails is a much better investment then this device. I wish I had used the money on another bottle of polish.

Clever for the amateur
-01.26.13
Quick Take: great for novices
This nifty little tool makes quick work of cleanly painting the tips of your nails and sealing them with top coat. It's not a must have in my manicure kit, but it definitely left me with great tips!

Not Helpful
-01.22.13
Quick Take: not worth it!
This product would work much better if it would stay put on the surface or table on which you are doing your nails. It does have a rubber pad at the bottom, but it doesn't stick and I ended up chasing it around the table while trying to rest my finger in it. In addition, although it may prevent smudging at your fingertips, it does nothing to prevent you from smudging the sides, which is usually the problem!

Excellent tool
-01.13.13
I've been waiting for this to be in stock at my local store and I finally got it today. The "lip" pushes the skin away from the edge of the fingernail nicely for painting/capping the nail edge. It also has a non-slip pad on the bottom that keeps it in place and keeps your finger steady while painting. It made painting with my non-dominant hand almost as easy as with my dominant hand.
