Love the Metallics!
-05.12.13
Quick Take: long wearing
I like "Electric Grandma" better than "Grandma." They are slightly different colors, so the metallic part isn't the only difference. To me, Electric Grandma is more wearable.

Love the Metallics!
-05.05.13
Quick Take: highly pigmented
I love the little extra shimmer of the OCC Metallics! This color is great on its own or mixed with others!

You have to love it!
-05.05.13
Quick Take: long wearing, not too dry and not too wet
It covers easily but is not slick. It doesn't fell like a gloss, which I think is a good thing. I really like it. It is much better than Stila's all day liquid lipstick, which is too dry.

I bought this color (yaoi I think) on my birthday, I was thrilled with it at first with the first few applications but after a while I realized how it REALLY dried my lips. I wouldn't buy this again.Disappointing

Not what I expected
-04.19.13
Quick Take: sheer
Super NSFW is completely sheer! You have to put like 4 coats for the color to show up. I was expecting super NSFW to have the same opacity as the other lip tars I own but it doesn't even come close.... What a disappointment.

Beautiful color, but not great for dry lips
-04.16.13
Quick Take: highly pigmented, drying
I bought Yaoi and the clear lip tars. And it is true, a little goes a long way! Yaoi is a bright fuchsia pink with silver sparkles and has not scent while the clear lip tar has a subtle minty smell; however, after a few minutes, it goes away.
I use the clear one as a primer and I have learned that you can use it to make your own colors by mixing it with mineral shadows. Both lip tars are drying, so after applying Yaoi, I have to use a clear gloss so the cracks on my lips are not emphasized.
With my experience, it is not stain my lips, it transfers and after so many transfers the color fades and disappears. For the price and how little you need to get that vibrant color, I think it's worth $18

Quick Take: drying
I was looking for a lip stain that was not too drying. Decided to give Lip Tar a try. While it had a very nice vibrant color, it was like any other lip stain... drying. Too bad.

Pigmented, great color payoff, hard to blend
-04.05.13
Quick Take: long wearing, pigmented, stains
These are highly pigmented and are some of the prettiest pinks that are flattering to many skin tones. They smell minty fresh but the inbetween gloss/lipstick texture is a bit drying and difficult to blend. I have pretty boy and it stains my lips even after oil cleansing. These are worth it if you want big color payoff.

nice and bright

Quick Take: creamy, long wearing
I purchase "Yaoi" - the hot fuschia, which is perfect for a night out. I might have to purchase "Electric Grandma" as well. Just make sure to use the primer.

BRIGHT!
-03.28.13
Quick Take: brighter than you think!
I use this over another lipstick to tone down the neon quality of the lip tar, but i like how it ads a color pop and shimmer to my regular pink lipstick. My only advice would be to make sure when you put it on, you have it where you want it cause once it's on, it takes a lot to take it off!

Super NSFW
-03.03.13
Quick Take: long lasting, pigmented, moisturizing, messy
The color is so GORGEOUS. It's richly pigmented and lasts for quite a long time (~6 hours) even without a lip primer or anything else. You only use a tiny drop (or two, depending on how much color you want) and this Lip Tar can survive wine glasses, coffee cups, and anything in between!
However, I give it only 4 stars because
1) It is EXTREMELY messy to apply and hard to remove if you get it on your hands/anywhere else by accident, and
2) the brush provided with the Lip Tar is easy enough to work with, but it doesn't provide much precision in applying the stuff. And with makeup THIS highly pigmented, you really need that precision.
But really, it was the color that I fell in love with, and if you find that you love a certain color, then those two points of contention are easy to rectify!

Not up to par with other lip tars
-03.02.13
I swatched this color of my hand before I bought it at the store and it was gorgeous, wish I could say the same for my lips at home. Electric grandma is sheer and overly metallic. I found it to be washed out and almost ashy on the lips. I have lip tars in nsfw, memento, hoochie, and nylon.. Electric grandma was the only one I've purchased so far that went back to the store.

junk
-03.02.13
Quick Take: oily drying clumpy messy
the only reason for the 1 star is bc the color is actually pretty, although it looks nothing like the one in the picture. i purchased electric grandma, it is orange, bright orange which is not how it appears. i thought ok, give it a chance and was very excited that it looked nice. then it all went down hill from there, i followed the instructions exactly and it didn't even stay on for an hour. the next application was worse, the product started to clump up and come off in big flakes and made my lips super dry. not only that but there is so much oil in the tube, it's pretty gross. i was so looking forward to this product and am very disappointed, don't waste your time or money.

Did not match my dark skintone - Metallic Yaoi
-02.28.13
I tried it on in store and fell in love .. it was a barbie bright pink. When I got home and used it like a week later I was utterly disappointed. I got Metallic Yaoi , and with my dark skin it was akward with the glitter shimmer accents.. Now I look on the website Im thinking I picked up a different pink from what I tried on .. so I will be giving this another try in the future .. for now I am all set on Metallic Yaoi - does not look cute on me..

NSFW - great for redheads with pink undertones
-02.21.13
Quick Take: intense, highly pigmented
I have very bright (fake) red hair, and pink undertone skin, and this color looks amazing on me--NSFW.
The stuff stays on really well, and I haven't had trouble with it getting on my teeth, but it does get on to everything else during application, so make sure you get it off your hands, etc.
It's so heavy duty I wonder about if it's a good idea to be ingesting it by having it on my lips...but hey, I rarely wear lipstick.
