Nice scent!

Quick Take: soothing
Love the scent. It absorbs quickly but doesn't very moisturizing. Do not recommend for winter use.

L'OccitaneBrightening Hand Care = Soft Hands
-02.06.13
Quick Take: softening, smoothing, expensive
L'OccitaneBrightening Hand Care SPF 15 is like any other hand lotion, so far. The brightening effects are natural looking. I don't know how long it takes for the daisy extract to reduce age spots, but so far, it has not done a thing. It does make the tops of your hands feel good. The packaging is difficult for one to deal with if they have arthritis. Instead of their usual tube, L'Occitane chose a harder plastic, tube-shaped bottle that needs to be squeezed in order to dispense the lotion. Like most of their products, the lotion is pricey.

Perfect winter dry hands & gel polish enthusiasts
-01.09.13
Quick Take: skin-softening, soothing, moisturizing, smells great
The title says it all. I get little red lines or sometimes even cracks on my hands in the winter. I've been a big fan of L'Occitane for years. The shea butter regular formula has saved my hands from the cold for many winters, but since I started regularly getting gel nail polish, I read in Harper's Bazaar that putting your hands in the UV light to harden the polish may had age spots and fine lines to the skin on my hands. Since I don't tan, I don't know anything about being under UV light other than when I get my nails done.
My hands are already dry an irritated in the winter, but I wanted an SPF hand cream to address the UV issue. Though this lotion is pricey, it's REALLY effective. The texture is like a regular lotion, possibly slightly on the creamier side, and it smells like the fresh peel of a fruit, not an orange but something like maybe a papaya or guava. The fresh fruit peel smell is light and is not overpowering.
The real great point of this lotion is that it lasts. Even after I wash my hands, they're still most (and I'm a pretty avid hand-washer). I put about a dime sized amount on the back of one hand and rub them together really thoroughly. I only apply twice a day, once in the AM and again the PM. I like that it has UV protection. I was told by a L'Occitane shop worker that the "Immortale" ingredient is really a cult favorite. Though my hands did not show age signs to begin with since I'm relatively young, I really think this lotion helps heal dry hands as well as gives the UV protection that many gel polish enthusiasts need. I really recommend it. It's pricey but the bottle will last. I have softer hands because of it.
