Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner

What it is: An ultrasmooth, waterproof, creamy eyeliner that applies with the silky finish of a gel and the precision of a liquid liner. What it does: This ultrasmooth creamy formula provides a silky soft finish with the precision of a liquid liner. Waterproof and designed for extended wear (up to eight hours), it is smudge-proof, transfer-resistant, and crease-free. It glides on smoothly and evenly, delivering immediate color-impact and intensity. Along with creating a fine, precise line and definition in one stroke, it also provides a beautiful, semi-matte, non-oily finish with full-coverage color. What else you need to know: Ophthalmologist-, dermatologist-, and allergy-tested to minimize the risk of irritation, this non-greasy, non-drying formula is suitable for contact-lens wearers and all skin types.

love the color - too creamy
-05.20.13
I LOVED the color and normailly love LM products (75% of the make up I use is LM), but this was just too creamy. I tried it a couple of times and while it was easy to apply, I noticed that when I wanted it darker/more intense, it would actually come off instead of go on. Also, by the end of the day, it would migrate to my bottom lash. Maybe I was using too much, but I really think that it is because it never really dries. I ended up returning it.
I did keep the brush! I love the slanted eyeliner brush that goes with it.

Wonderful!
-05.16.13
Quick Take: long wearing
I have had constant issues with eyeliners not being dark, long lasting, and "popping" enough.
This eyeliner fixes ALL of that. Get a good brush for it, and it works wonders.

Obsessed!
-05.09.13
Quick Take: waterproof, long wearing, creamy
I originally bought this in violet and fell in love, and within a week I purchased the indigo, black and brown as well. I love this eyeliner and use it daily because my everyday look is a winged cat eye and this liner is perfect for that! (even more than the Stila marker tip) The liner is so soft and creamy and you barely need any to get full coverage, this product will last a while so don't let the price change your mind on it! The pigment is wonderful but on the violet and indigo I use two coats to have a completely opaque line. I've had no problems with smudging or transfer onto my lid and I wear these liners for 16+ hours. However, I do use primer potion as a base most days but I haven't noticed any issues when I don't use it. My only small complaint is that I was hoping the indigo would be closer to an actual indigo color but it has more of a teal coloring, but if you put two coats it's not as noticeable. Also! Skip the LM brush and try the Sephora #17, it's cheaper and thinner to get a smaller line, I love it!

Unwanted smudging
-05.03.13
Quick Take: smudgable, messy
I tried to make an educated switch from liquid to gel liner, so I chose this highly-rated Lauren Mercier product. Fortunately the first time I tried it I stayed at home all day - in a couple of hours, I noticed big dark black smudges on my lower lids that made it look as though I had been crying. I threw my $22 purchase in the trash, because it didn't seem fair to give this to one of my friends.

Great product
-05.02.13
Quick Take: long wearing
I'm using this with the Laura Mercier angled liner brush, a perfect duo! It glides on effortlessly with the thin angled brush for an all day or all night look. Go with a thick or very thin line. I don't think you can go wrong with any LM product.

Long lasting, creamy
-05.01.13
Quick Take: waterproof, long wearing
Love the texture and the fact that it's so long-wearing! Most of my eyeliners easily rub off, even if i just touch my eye. But, this liner stays on so well! I love it! :)

-04.29.13
Quick Take: smudgable, long wearing
This was my first Laura Mercier purchase and I absolutely love it, it takes a bit of practice but the liner works very well, no flaking or running, I purchased the violet color, which is nice, dark and very wearable.

Probably the best
-04.28.13
Quick Take: waterproof, long wearing
I cannot believe the wear. I know you should never fall asleep with makeup on but the first day I wore this, I accidentally fell asleep with it. I woke up the next morning to get ready for school, looked at my face in the mirror, and realized I didn't need to do my makeup. I was shocked. Needless to say, I love it. It a nice solid black and easy to apply. definitely better than bobbi brown

Never knew
-04.26.13
This is the first time I've purchased a creme eye liner. I purchased soley on the advice of the Sephora rep. She seemed knowledgeable and helpful. Pencils pull on my eyes and I wanted a smoother application. I wasn't 100% sure because this requires a tool. However application is easy. The liner stays for hours and looks like it was professionally applied. For day or night, has that sophisticated, well put together look. Great product!

Creamy richness
-04.25.13
Quick Take: smudgable, creamy
Exactly what the description is of, smooth and creamy: true. Waterproof... eh, I've had better. I have combo skin and I use a moisturizing eye cream with a primer and powder under my eyes and yet, it still runs. I'm still on the hunt for a waterproof, but if you want a very black defined eyeliner, this is it. if you don't mind it NOT lasting more than 4 hours, this is it.

The Best Out there!
-04.23.13
Quick Take: awesome!, creamy, smooth application, stays put all day, non-irritating
I love cream shadows & liners, I've bought pretty much every one on the market I could find & have tried them, some are better than others. Laura Mercier is probably the best cream liner I've tried, the application is smooth & once it sets it stays put for my 12 hour shifts. I have since gone back & purchased all four of the colors available.

Great liner, but does not last all day
-04.21.13
This liner is very pliable and easy to apply. Glides on smooth and looks great. However, by the afternoon the liner starts running at the corner of my eyes. I am surprised because it is supposed to be waterproof. There are times I have looked in the mirror midday only to find the liner smudged. Besides this, it is much better than others I have tried. I will go with Bobbi Brown next time, which is the one the saleswoman in Sephora had recommended to me (they were out of dark brown).

Not that good.

This creme liner is not pigmented enough. It felt too water based for my liking. Needed to go over it 2 or 3 more times to get it to show. I had to return.

CONTACT LENSE WEARERS
-04.18.13
I love this eye liner....I am obsessed with eye liner and have used every product out there. I love how deep the color is and how you don't need to apply multiple layers. However, I wear contact lenses, and if some of the gel gets into my eye, it sticks to the contact lense and DOES NOT COME OFF! It is also very hard to remove using soap and water alone.

Love the staying power!
-04.17.13
It's been so hard to find a good eyeliner that stays and i'm always going back and forth between pencils and liquid and I think this creamy eyeliner is perfect, plus its waterproof so it stays on longer without the runny look by the end of the day. Just make sure you invest in a good eyeliner brush and you'll be able to achieve pretty much any look. I also love how it stays creamy in the pot and doesn't get hard after a few weeks like many drugstore gel or cream eyeliners have. Def. a plus!!! :)

No Smudging or Wearing Off!
-04.06.13
Quick Take: waterproof, long wearing, smudgable
I've used Smashbox cream, Bobbi Brown gel, and Lancome gel eyeliners before trying Laura Mercier's new liner recently. This is by far my favorite, but there's a slight learning curve. It goes on with a similarly to a liquid, but it's much creamier. There's very little time to correct a mistake, or remove it, but once you get it down, it's great. I used Bobbi Brown for years, but it flaked off a bit while applying and during the day as I wore it. Lancome is a step up from Bobbi Brown, but after the air gets to the product, it gets drier and harder to apply enough, so I have to go over it several times. With Laura Mercier, I use a Bobbi Brown eyeliner brush that came with a kit and has a slightly fanned, or rounded edge, with bristles for eyeshadow application on the other end. I have tons of eyeliner brushes,(Bobbi Brown, Lnacome, Laura Mercier, etc.) and this one works the best of all of them. Once applied, it stays put! I'm 56, and one of my eyelids is very slightly drooping, so pencils (with the exception of Smashbox Waterproof Shadowliner), and cheap drugstore cream or gel eyeliners will not last since my eyelid touches the product when I blink, so it disappears over the course of the day, or smudges. Not a problem with the one. It really is great. It sounds like a few people have gotten a bad batch. Mine is thick and very creamy. Not runny at all, and zero smudging. . I purchased Canard (similar to her black turquoise eyeliner pencil color). It's much darker than Lancome's teal, and I'm going to get Cobalt and Midnight Indigo. The lighter shades don't look garish at all since they're dark enough to look classy and not like something your 15 year old daughter would wear..Love this product!
