Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil

What it is:An antiaging botanical blend that works to provide serious hydration and protection against free radical damage for all skin types. What it does:Tsubaki Beauty Oil hydrates and replenishes, leaving skin smoother, softer, and more supple. An excellent source of fatty and omega 3 acids, this soothing oil prevents premature signs of aging by defending the skin against free radical damage. Wakame (Japanese sea kelp) repairs past damage by replenishing protein and helps support natural collagen production. Rice bran oil restores the look of skin for a glowing, gorgeous complexion with its lightweight, non-greasy texture. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates - Phthalates What else you need to know:Tsubaki (Camellia) oil has been an essential part of Japanese beauty rituals for centuries. Japanese women, well-known for their flawless skin, would traditionally nourish and protect their skin with native Tsubaki oil, which is naturally fast-absorbing, hypoallergenic, and always non-comedogenic. In addition to its potent skincare benefits, Camellia oil is responsible for the iconic smoothness of the geisha and samurai hairstyles of the past. Camellia oil is harvested from the Shizuoka region of Japan - a short distance from Yokahama, the birthplace of boscia, where the coastal fog causes camellias to grow extremely slowly, concentrating the antioxidants and aromas. The flowers and leaves are steam-dried, which produces camellia oil by cold pressing the seeds and preserving the tremendous skin protection and antiaging benefits found in our formula.

Amazing boost
-05.17.13
This oil is amazing for giving moisture without giving stickiness which is great for those who live in humid climates. The oil is amazing when mixed in with moisturizer or bb cream and I have also found that with combining with my bb cream the application is a lot smoother, more even and does not drag. I have oily acne prone skin and ever since I started using the oil friends (EVEN GUYS) have said my skin looked smoother and even poreless. The price of this oil is fair for the amount you get and the quality is superb. I tend to be quite the skin care junkie and hardly ever repurchase things, but when I run out I have to get another bottle.

Mixed feelings
-05.15.13
Quick Take: effective
I really like this product. So far, I've been able to apply it for my face, hair, and as a foot moisturizer.
I have normal/dry skin, and when I apply it, it takes forever to soak in, and leaves my skin oily. However, the next day, my skin is superbly soft, along with my hairs and feet. If it just settled in faster for me, I would've given it 5 stars, but because I really have to apply it only when I'm not going anywhere, and have hours to let it set, I gave it 4.
Have only used it a few times, so still need to see if there will be long term results.

Really an enjoying this Boscia Product!
-05.12.13
first of let me just say this product is a great night time treament .What I do is wash with cleanser/toner than i put five drops of oil on left side of face and another five on right, give or take a few. Been noticing this oil absorbs really well into the skin so it plumps it up and also has great repairing effects on peeling and sun drenched skin.
love this product!

It's just ok
-05.10.13
It's a good moisturizer but with this kind of price you can buy any other brands who provide even better products.
It is not greasy and skin feels evidently smooth after using it. Still, this product is way too expensive for the size.

This is a lightweight oil, so don't worry about feeling greasy.
I apply it after I wash and use it as a mid day moisturizer.

IMPROVED MY SKIN
-05.08.13
Quick Take: a miracle
Worth the price. I have oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. I have a lot of scars, but after the first use of this product, I woke up to supple, smooth to touch skin. Did not improve my scars on the first use of course, but after 2 weeks, it did. I believe it helped to lighten my scars, and made my skin look more youthful and healthy. It provides just the right amount of moisture on my OILY SKIN. Never thought oils could help other oils... I use this twice a day. 7 drops at night, and 3 drops in the morning and it makes my make up appear nicer, too! Kinda works as a primer for me. Ahh I'm so glad I found this product. ;)

Great on its own or mixed with a lotion
-05.05.13
My skin is combination. Some days it is dry, others oily. Typically I have the true combo skin - normal/oily t-zone with dry cheeks. Lately I've had some dry patches that none of my moisturizers were helping. I picked this up and love it! I liked Josie Maran's Argan oil, but found that it was a touch heavier than I'd prefer. I was hesitant to buy the Tsubaki oil, but am so glad that I did. I use 3-4 drops if I use it on its own and it soaks in after a few minutes. I can easily add a little more to a dry patch. If I find during the day that I have a dry patch, I put a single drop of oil on the back of my hand, dab a finger into it, and press it in to the dry patch - this messes up my makeup minimally. Since my skin is still a little dry, for day time, I add a drop or two to my day cream and it gives it the little extra boost of moisture that I needed. Less really is more with the oil! I even use two drops at night to massage into my hands and cuticles. This bottle is going to last me forever since you use so little of it. I've even rubbed a few drops into the last few inches of my hair and it doesn't weigh my hair down or make it look greasy.

And I'm not an oil person...
-05.03.13
I'm the kind of person who avoids oils like the plague because of my oily, blemish prone skin. However, I've been wanting to up the ante beneath my makeup so I reluctantly gave this a try. I AM CONVERTED!! I now apply it morning and night under my sunscreen.

Great moisturizer for oily/combination skin
-05.03.13
I used to be in denial about my oily skin. Shouldn't I have outgrown acne by now? But that denial led me to buy moisturizing creams that just made my acne worse.
Enter...beauty oil! I have been using this product for 2 weeks and my acne is already cleared up! No new blemishes so far. My skin also feels a lot smoother, probably because my pores aren't all horribly clogged. It has a nice scent and comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. I apply three drops in the morning under my sunscreen and three drops at night. Just place in your palm, warm it up for a few seconds, and press into the face and neck. It works great and I feel like this bottle will last me a good while. Great value! If you have oily skin, try this product! Highly recommended.

I am weird about bacteria-so I retuned this product I could never get it open and it was hard to close. I know if they changed their design I would have kept it. It was just a hassle-sorry because I live boscia.

serum/night cream/beauty oil - all in one!
-04.27.13
This is perfect to wear it alone at night or underneath your night cream for a deeper hydration. It truly works. My face in the morning feels incredibly soft, moisturized, and glowing! Sometimes with these beauty oils, they hydrate but doesn't necessarily give you that glow. I have pretty sensitive skin and prone to acne, but this worked for me! All you need is a few drops total. Another bonus is that it doesn't have a scent to it.
It's also very affordable!

Perfect Dewy Skin
-04.24.13
Quick Take: moisturizing, refining
Oil on my face? Never in a million years would I ever have tried this type of product for fear of heavy breakouts on my sensitive combination skin. But, since I am in love with the effects of tsubaki oil shampoo on my hair I had to give this a go. I have been using the oil now as the last step in my nightly skincare routine for 3-4 weeks and can honestly say the results have been astonishing. I wake up in the morning and my skin is dewy and supple, no tightness, dry spots and the fine expression lines around my mouth and forehead are deminished.
A little goes a long way and if you over do it you will end up with a bit of an oil slick. 3 drop is all you need warmed up between the palms and pressed into your skin for a few seconds to make sure it soaks in. I tried using this in my morning routine under makeup, it does a decent job and does give me a natural glow under my CC cream but makes me oilier faster. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have very dry skin and need the additional moisture.

My Hopes Were Too High
-04.23.13
Quick Take: smells good, not greasy
Saw this on the shelf and was attracted to the pretty pink bottle, nice smell and fancy dropper thingy. $46!?!?! I figured it must be good. The bottle is pretty big, and Boscia has never let me down before, so I bought it on a whim.
It's just not for me. It did not make my skin greasy, it smells nice, and it's fun to use, but it didn't really DO anything for me....it wasn't some miracle serum that made my face glow or made me look younger.
In the products defense, I do not use this every day. Maybe I will try to use it every day and see if that makes a difference....
OVERALL RATING: 3/5, don't bother.

This is a wonderful product
-04.21.13
At first I thought that the oil would be too sticky and just lay on the top layer of my skin, but, it did not and within a hour or less my skin felt soft and smooth and no oily feeling what-so-ever. I have really dry patches on my skin and this product is working well to take care of that problem too. Love the way my face looks so soft and dewy it seems to glow. It has also helped with fine lines I have none on my face and I have no deep lines either and I am in my 60's. This product is awesome!

Quick Take: a treasure
Been using this product for about a month. I had pretty good skin before but this stuff has made it even better. Over all skin tone is perfect, can not believe the difference. Smells great, absorbs fast, I use it every night on my face and neck. Had slight signs of aging on my neck and its almost gone.. My only complaint is I have very dry skin and in the Canadian winters I think I would need something heavier. This is perfect for me spring/summer.
