Quick Take: easily made at home
Many friends simply use artist's pastels (chalks that come in a full set of colors and ranges of intensity so you get soft or vibrant shades of pink, red orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, etc. Just crush it, and apply it as you would this product.

So, this is not so easy to apply. The color is striking and this is a fun product, but you can't really use your hands to apply this stuff. I have found that rubbing the product directly on my hair works best. Also, be sure to avoid coloring areas that touch the face, as you might end up with color on your face... and it doesn't just come off with water (this includes your hands).

Quick Take: messy, hard to use, no color payoff
I was so excited to try this product when I bought it. However, when I went to use it, it turned out to be awful. It's messy and the color seems to go everywhere BUT my hair. The instructions say to 'smash it on, seal with spray' and when I did just that, the color disappeared completely.
Way too messy and difficult to use for something that doesn't even work.

Quick Take: best color!, fun
I LOVE this stuff! I dye my hair black every four weeks, so it is usually a very dark brown even after the color fades, so I was worried the powder wouldn't show up but it SO does (I will try and include pic)! I followed the instructions for applying it, and with one swipe I have a super blue streak! Here's the con - it's powder, so it's messy. It usually sprinkles all over my sink, even just putting a swipe on my bangs, and I accidentally got it on my forehead once and it - for some reason - kind of stained my forehead, but I got it off with makeup remover. Once its on your hair, if you brush it, it will fade a lot, and if you touch it your hands will be covered in blue. However, I haven't covered it in a lot of hairspray to seal it so that probably helps a lot. But for a fun night out, I love the color and the product in general. I will definitely purchase again :)

This powder is relatively simple to use. I have dark hair but I concentrated the powder on a few of my lighter brown highlights and it showed up really well (I was using the purpley-blue color). I sprayed the hair with leave-in conditioner, rubbed some of the powder in (over the sink), and then sprayed it with a lot of hair spray. It's been 24 hours and it's holding strong. It washed off my hands and out of the sink with some soap.

This stuff was kind of messy to apply, and did not have much staying power, despite sealing with a spray. I used it on my 3 year old's hair for a St. Patrick's Day event at her preschool, and by the end of the day you could hardly see she ever had any color in her hair. The color itself is pretty, and the formula washed from her scalp and my hands easily.

I got the pink and will have to buy more bc when I went to apply it to my hair for my birthday, my shaky hand syndrome kicked in and I dropped it...it cracked and powder went everywhere! Obviously I put back the large chunks of powder and did what I could with it, which was quite a bit of hair. It does get on your hands, but it washes off easily and the chalk does go fast (from what I used), Also, it stays in very well (I used leave-in conditioner and it never came out all day) and washed right out during bath time. I love it and will def buy more in the future!

Quick Take: conveinent, fun
Bought this in so jaded, and love it! Though it did get on my face, it was easy to wash off. I have bleached hair and it took a triple shampoo to get it all out, I also used it on my dogs black mane, and it showed up just as well. Super cool!

Very, very messy- do NOT use in a carpeted area. Stained my hair to the point that it ruined my highlights :( Also, do not let it come into contact with the upholstery in your car...it stained that too. Product is a total bust for me.

Quick Take: fun, colorful, pigmented, rich, cute
Yay, this is a dream come true for a girl who has to look like a conservative professional for work, but also likes to get decked out wild and funky off the clock. This stuff looks cooler than I thought it would - I got the color Snowflake and it turns out a really rich, bright azure blue. This is a better deal than a more expensive hair mascara would be, especially if you are trying to go for more coverage like the "dip dye" look I tried out in the picture. The product mostly stayed on throughout the day (because you have to seal it with hairspray) but to be safe I wouldn't wear a white shirt like some of the other reviewers. I also made a bit of a mess on the floor/sink of my bathroom when I tried it out the first time, but if you accidentally get Colorsmash on clothes or other household objects it is easy to wipe off and wash out of clothes/hair with gentle soap and warm water. Yay, so much fun!

Quick Take: fun when you want to give hair pop, eash to use literally smash it on, excellent to hide premature grays, is more intense on gray hairs, can get messy if applied with brushes, stays until washed
I have black hair and the royal blue kind of enhanced my hair - but what was really great was how it stands out more on grays that are coming out and even looks more intense on the grey hair that shows before it's time to dye my hair.

I used an old eyeshadow brush that came with a drugstore brand. I bought this product specifically to play up my grey streaks. The color was very visible on the grey hair and merely acted like a tint on the dark hair. The powder seemed to fade after a while even with hairspray. All in all it served its purpose, it was fun. 8D

My hair is brown and it didnt show up at all on my hair.. I wasnt sure if it would but the display at the store had pictures of girls who had brown hair who used it so I'm not sure..

Colosmash is great, I have tried many different colors and they are so much fun to play with. I streaked my hair with color for a music festival I went to and it lasted all day and night; it came of after I shampooed. The best way to apply is to spray some leave in conditioner till damp and then "smash" on the color and then seal with hairspray. Easy to use!
