Quick Take: amazing
This blowdryer is amazing! Make sure to use the nozzle on the front otherwise it doesn't work as well. This blowdryer does an amazing job getting my hair dry quickly without frying it!

pricey, but lovely.

I ended up returning this because of the price. The parts I LOVED about the Buttercup were the lightweight feel and the cool shot click button (no need to hold it down). I will splurge for a flat iron, but it is not necessary on my fine hair.

Perfection in a dryer
-05.17.13
Quick Take: incredible, powerful, hot, perfect, better than t3
I purchased a T3 a few weeks ago after reading it's stellar reviews and was extremely unhappy! After seeing the amazing reviews for drybar I had to give it a go. It has great heat but not too hot, the best power I've come across, the nozzles are a great size (and actually thin enough to concentrate the heat) and my hair dried and styled easily and quickly. Contrary to a few reviews I did not find the cord bulky, nor the dryer heavy. Doesn't leave a film on your hair like the T3! So thrilled with my purchase. I'm extremely fussy about my dryers and I've never reviewed before but this is definitely worth my time and money!!

I can't complain. I like this dryer. Pricey, but it is light and keeps my hair pretty straight after a blow dry. My hair is thick and curly naturally. I blow dry with a round brush everyday. Its a keeper

Works great, not too heavy
-05.11.13
Quick Take: expensive but worth it
This dryer is just a tiny bit heavier than my T3 (which died after one year), but the build quality on this Buttercup is far superior. The housing is sturdy, the cord is sturdy. The settings have such a nice variety. My think hair dries quickly and smoothly...and the color is so delightful !!

LOVE IT!!!!!
-05.07.13
I love this hairdryer! Bought along with the Full Pint Medium Round Brush and have had great results! I've used T3 dryers over the years and have always liked them. It was time for a new dryer so I figured I would check out what was available. I admit, the bright yellow color of the Buttercup is what made me click on it. But after reading reviews and the fact that is was a bit less expensive, I figured I would give it a try. And I'm soo glad I did! I think it MAY be just a bit heavier than the T3, but not enough to made a big deal about. I love that is has multiple speeds and heat levels as well as the actual COLD button, that stays cold and you don't have to hold it down.
I'm very happy with my purchase and will recommend the Buttercup. Another plus, drybar includes a $10.00 off coupon in the box good towards a blowout at one of their salons! Don't have any near me, but will definately hang on to it for my next trip out to California!

Superior Blow Dryer
-05.03.13
I have been using various T3 blow dryers for over 10 years. I was happy with the T3 products until I tried the Drybar Buttercup. This dryer is quieter and it dries my hair faster. Expensive - but all the better blow dryers are in this price range. For me, the Buttercup is worth the price.

Doesn't live up to the hype.
-05.02.13
This was the third dryer I tested in the $200 range. I have lots of fine long healthy hair. The dryer was the first to actually decrease drying time, was very light weight but the end result was not impressive. My hair was very frizzy and flyaway. Kind of poofy not at roots but the ends.

I've never spent this much money on a hai dryer because I didn't think it was worth it. I was wrong! Dries my hair so fast compared to my old hot tools hair dryer!

Decent hairdryer.
-04.30.13
I ordered this dryer from another website but wanted to add my review here. First of all, when I received this dryer, it only blew cold air. This dryer has a locking cool shot button..the source of that problem for me. This dryer blows air strongly which is great for speeding up drying time. However, I find the warm air too cool and the hot air too hot. It is also a lot heavier than my T3. I really liked the two sizes of concentrator nozzles. The smaller one works better for me. I ended up returning this dryer because while it was quick at drying my hair, I had to use a higher heat than I preferred and my hair just didn't look as shiny and healthy as it does with my T3.

If your gonna buy a hair dryer for $190 you might as well get the best of the best and spend an extra ten dollars... I just wasn't thinking:-(

Love!

This is the best dryer I have used. I had a CHI and T3 prior to purchasing the buttercup...I find this one gets much hotter than the T3...which made it cut drying time down. It also cuts frizz and leaves hair soft and smooth. Definitely, worth getting.

Good not great for me.
-04.14.13
Quick Take: decent but not for price
GOOD: Faster than my professional/salon grade blow dryer by about 5 minutes. Really gets my hair super straight.
BAD: My hair is too fluffy and by day two really dies down and get really flat. This dryer might be better for someone who doesn't have the keratin hair treatment. i suspect it would be great for someone without it in their hair. I prefer a bit of volume but not fluffy

LOVVVVE!!!!

Quick Take: works for thick african american/asian hair too!
Let me just say that I am black and Asian with thick curly and long hair... I am used to flat ironing my hair, but with this thing does the job with the round brush technique! This dryer gets super hot and I don't even need a flat iron when I'm done. No more going to the Dominicans for a great blow out, as I can do it myself. People ALWAYS compliment me and try to grab my hair. This blow dryer is the best!

Great Blow Dryer
-03.24.13
Quick Take: awesome
This is the first time I've ever splurged on a dryer and I'm so glad I did. It's very powerful but very gentle at the same time. It really does make my hair look smooth and shiny. I have very fine hair and I always so nervous about heat damage and I feel like this dryer is fool proof. It gives the perfect amount of heat and doesn't cook my hair. I'm so happy with this dryer.

Fast, fabulous and beautiful finish!
-03.20.13
I've used Sedu and FHI dyers in the past...both very effective. Decided to try the Buttercup and am so pleased that it dries my hair completely in less than 5 mins. I have a lot of long, fine hair and use multiple prep products as well. This is a superb dryer as it smoothes the hair so I don't the flat iron. Well done Drybar!!

great looking hair
-03.20.13
My Metropolis hairdryer finally died on me and I was considering getting a T3 b/c of all the reviews on them. I saw this as a new product on Sephora, looked up the company and their philosophy and decided to give it a whirl. I was hesitant b/c it's a bit pricey, but when I tried it, it dried my hair quickly and left it soft and manageable. The first time I used it I kept getting asked if I had my hair done. I've had it for about a month now. Also I have fine (but a ton of it), naturally wavy hair. Now I did use the full pint round brush with it and I really liked that too. Probably made a difference in how it came out.
