Can't get past the scent

The product's effect on my hair was minimal -- still limp with little control. I would have tried combining it with another product to see if it improved, but my hair smelled like chemicals all day. I had to return it.

Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, easy to use
This is my favorite mousse ever!!! I have tried it all! I have fine curly curly (Irish descent) hair. However, the older I get it has been thinning, so I need some volume added. This did it! The smell is AMAZING! Love it! I can't say enough good things about it! It gives my hair volume and shine and curl definition. What more could a girl want?! It does not weigh my hair down.!

I am very picky when it comes to hair products. I don't like to use a lot. This product doesn't weigh my hair down or make it feel greasy. It smells nice too.

Quick Take: watery
Was excited to try it bc I go to Drybar approx 3x a month and was excited about their product line. I tried this product at the Sephora store on VIB day at start of Chic week, where the store I went to actually had hair stylists there to test brush your hair,help you style, - even blow dry! I put this in my hair and one of the hair stylists immediately caught me and said, "you want volume? Don't use THAT!" LOL, she was right! It was Terrible, weighed my hair down, plus the "mousse" was too watery and not "moussey."
And btw, in all my times since I've been to the Drybar since they have introduced their offical product line, even the Drybar stylists still use the Loreal volume products when I ask for volume, not this, just thought I would add that. I found that quite telling and interesting...;)

This mousse is light weight and great for my fine hair - it doesn't weigh it down like some other products. I'm no expert, but I've never felt any other hair mousse that is as light as this one.

I bought the shampoo and it was too heavy for my finer type hair. and this mousse was no hero either. it was also too heavy and did not live up to their promises.

not what I needed

The consultant at Sephora store recommended this mousse for my fine, flat hair. It is not sticky, and smells OK.
However, my big complaint is that my fine hair become frizzy very soon after using blow dry for volume.. And I came to the store for the solution for my frizz. The consultant said it will do the job.
The frizz was just worse and no volume added unless I use a hair drier and a brush (which I was trying to avoid with a product).
The mousse is lightweight though, and not sticky. It is OK for a heat blow dry. For wearing natural fine hair - totally useless.

Wanted So Much More

I had high expectations for this product, but I've been incredibly disappointed. My naturally curly hair was frizzy when I used this product with a blow dryer and crispy/frizzy when I tried to let my hair dry without blowdrying. I had to go in with another product to tame the frizz. I didn't even get upset when my teenaged daughter took it over and used it (with my products, I tend to horde the ones that work well). She returned it to my bathroom a day later.
I really wish I had spent the money on another product, but I love to test out new stuff. This is just not a good one.
It does, however, smell nice.

I thought this did a great job at giving my "fine but lots of it" hair some lift. I thought that the smell was the same as all the other drybar products which is a really nice smell but since it's aerosol it might be a little different but I didn't think it was bad. The mousse is really lightweight but you still just need a little bit. I did combine with a little bit of the bumble and bumble full form mousse for extra lift which was really nice. I love this mousse though I think it's great and does it's job nicely. I didn't have any flaking or frizziness either and my hair gets really frizzy too but I did use Hot Toddy and the 100 Proof oil for smoothness before blowdrying. It's really hard to get my hair to hold any volume and this did the trick. It seems like with all the drybar products you just need a little bit to get the desired results.

I am so disappointed in all of the DryBar styling products.
This mousse made my hair look dry and frizzy. On the upside it was not sticky and tacky.

Quick Take: easy to use, lightweight, smells bad
I was super excited to try this product. I have dry/flat hair and I'm always on the hunt for a product to give me some lift. I love the lightweight texture of this product but my biggest gripe is the smell. It has a strange musty smell that reminds me of a basement. Very odd for a hair product. Overall it did an ok job, but I would much rather buy a cheaper product that delivers the same results and without the smell.

volume without dryness

Quick Take: clean-smelling, good packaging (nozzle), good for texture with volume and a little hold
This is a great mousse either for using a limited number of products, or layering and using a lot. Not drying but still provides volume, texture, and definition. I have straight (maybe a very slight wave), color treated, short hair. I used this on a non-shampoo day and it helped to give a little shape to my hair (fine to medium texture, needs to be cut so thicker than usual). Smells great!
