It does what it says!

Quick Take: rich
I love this product. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because my feet slide in my sandals but on the plus side, I do not have any calloused, ashy, hard, cracked skin. My skin feels nice and looks supple. I also use this on my hair to tame the frizziness. Good product!

I usually get really bad razor burn for some reason, but after I shave now I apply the Shea butter to my legs and I have instantly smooth shiny razor burn free beautiful legs, and i can also go a few days longer with out shaving. I use it on my lips, feet, and sometimes my face when i get dry patches from using acne products and it doesn't feel oily or make me break out.
I will definitely purchase this product again...yes it is a little pricy but totally worth it :D

Amazing
-04.08.13
I have used this for my entire pregnancy and don't have a single stretch mark at 40wks. I put it on morning and night and my skin always feels amazing and I've never had any discomfort or itchiness. I will definitely continue to use this, although less frequently, after the baby!! My husband started using it too on his hands which were extremely dry from surgical scrub. It's a staple in our house!!

Really Nice
-03.28.13
I wanted this because my lips always split in the winter & I read that 100% pure Shea butter helps heal split lips. I didn't understand why it was so expensive but the tin is HUGE! I use it on my lips, heels, cuticles, elbows, any place that needs soothing & healing moisture. A very fair price for the giant tin you get. I really like it. It's not greasy & feels great.

Shea butter is a miracle!
-03.04.13
Quick Take: rich, unscented, healing, moisturizing
Though this is outrageously overpriced, you can't deny the awesome healing and moisturizing powers of shea butter. I like that this is refined so it doesn't have the smell of shea butter. If you mix it with a small bit of oil (like coconut or extra virgin olive), after heating it for a few seconds in the microwave (in a microwave-safe container), the result is a moisturizing/smoothing miracle cream that is much easier to spread onto skin and hair. I love to use this to tame and style my tightly curly 3a/4b hair. Smoothed onto ends on top of a good conditioner does wonders to prevent dryness and breakage. Also, using this stuff on cuts and abrasions, sunburn, and any other skin irritations is great. It truly is a "miracle balm". You can find refined shea butter at much better prices, but this one IS consistently of good quality. It's made by women in Burkina Faso. L'Occitane partners with them and advertises this as a way of helping the women there by giving them independent employment. While this is a true representation of the situation, I wonder how much profit the company makes by overcharging so much for the product. It would make me feel better to know that more money went to the people supplying the product than to a company in France that actively profits by advertising their relationship with a bunch of poor, disadvantaged women.

Great for lips
-01.28.13
Quick Take: rich
I got this on a set with two hand creams.
I tried to apply on my hand but shea butter is very thick and takes a lot of rubbing before it seeps into skin. I put a little bit on my lips and they felt so moisturized that now I only use it as a lip moisturizer.
There's a barely there scent that I believe it must be from shea butter.

Luxurious!
-12.31.12
Quick Take: rich
I received this inside a gift set, and didn't understand what it was at first! The hand cream, foot cream, and body lotion were all clearly labelled, but the little tin I assumed was lip balm. I love it on my lips, it smooths, soothes, and moisturizes, so I was pretty happy to discover here that I can also use it for my heels, and the callouses on my hands, and maybe even elbows and knees. I love that it's completely unscented too. I'm not sure if I will buy it again, because I love trying new products all the time, but this tiny tin is going to last and last and last, as so little goes such a long way.

Best moisturizer ever
-12.29.12
Quick Take: the best moisturizer ever
I have tried many moisturizers over the years. Cow teat, horse hoof, honey infused, etc. My fingertips used to crack and bleed in the winter when I lived in Chicago. I have used paraffin soaks to soften my hands, and then slathered on every moisturizer known to man afterwards in an effort to keep my hands from getting too dry.
In my experience, L'Occitane beats them all. It might seem a bit expensive, but 100% shea butter goes a long way. You don't have to use very much, and once you warm it in your hands it spreads quite a bit. I put it on at night while I watch t.v. and let it soak my cuticles and hands (and elbows and forearms) for as long as possible. It's a bit sticky going on, so don't use it if you're going right to bed or getting dressed immediately. Let it do its job and soak in. There's nothing better for your feet and heels, either.
I cannot recommend it more highly. It's the best moisturizer I've ever used. My hands are starting to get "crepey" on top (due to age), and once I apply this, that goes away! LUV this stuff. If you do a paraffin soak and then apply this, your hands/feet will be like silk!

The best product for very dry, cracked skin
-12.07.12
Quick Take: excellent for dry and cracked skin, highly moisturizing, non-greasy and easily absorbed
I used to have very dry and cracked skin on my heels. After using the shea butter for 6 months, there was a marked improvement. I use this product every day in the winter and have maintained a smooth texture on my heels and elbows. Very happy with the product even though it is a tad expensive because it works!

Awesome product!

Quick Take: l'occitane shea butter
I recently discovered that I have a severe allergy to Petrolatums, parrafins, etc. so I had to discontinue all lip balms that contain those ingredients. I purchased L'Occitane Shea Butter to use as a lip balm and I am amazed at the results. My lips are soft, no lines, the irritation has stopped. I am so thankful for this product. It's smell-free (most important to me) silky soft and there's lots of it in this tin! I've started using it all over, hands, elbows, feet, it's amazing. Thanks for a great product and a problem-solver.
