For best results use with Murad Oil control spf 15
-04.08.13
This is pretty good and does not irritate my skin. I am a huge fan of the Murad Oil Control Mattifier SPF 15, but it is a bit thick. I decided to give this a try and when i use this under the moisturizer it spreads evenly and they work really well together with no burning and no residue. It is a bit expensive, but the bottle will last you forever because a little goes a long way. Its like a mix between a gel and a liquid so it spreads easily.

Good for sensitive skin
-04.01.13
Quick Take: gentle, effective
I find this gel indispensable. I have a minor case of adult acne with black heads and white heads and an occasional real problem. This is primarily a glycolic acid product, but I find it works better than many. It heals existing pimples and diminishes black heads. Tightens pores. It doesn't totally take everything away, but it sure helps healing and diminishes left over dark spots. I find this is much gentler yet effective exfoliant for my skin that those that have physical grains that remove old skin.

Quick Take: exfoliating, skin softening, clearer
I have combination skin and I bought this in a kit for $35. Would gladly pay that for this product alone. It made my skin supple, smooth, and very soft. Along with the Skin Perfecting Lotion and the Clarifying Cleanser. The cleanser also helps to helps to remove all oil and dirt. I felt the tingle of the Clarifying Mask after a few minutes. I haven't used the Acne Spot Treatment everyday, only a couple of times.

My clear skin must-have!
-03.05.13
I've been suffering from mild to moderate acne since I was 17 and this has been the most effective and gentle acne-reducing and acne-preventing skin care item I've ever tried. Even when I try cleansers and moisturizers from other skincare lines I still ALWAYS use this treatment gel. It doesn't dry my skin and it keeps working no matter how long I use it. Yes it's pricey, but I only have to purchase about three times a year. Highly recommend!

I use this in the Murad 30 day acne kit. This product (along with the other items in the kit) and a Clarisonic have CLEARED MY SKIN.. This is a Miracle I tell you! I've had acne all my life, ranging from mild to moderate to severe breakouts! Using my new regime, it took about a month, but my skin is finally calmed down and breakout free!
I was concerned about the discoloration left behind so I picked up the Murad Hydroquinone scar reducer. You are not supposed to mix acids (like Hydroquinone and salicyclic acid, which is in this) so I would only use this Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel in the morning and the Hydroquinone at night. Lets just say, I began to break out. I will not stray from this product again! I highly recommend the 30 day acne kit and Clarisonic with this product!

Quick Take: hydrating, exfoliating, moisturizing, brightening
To clients who are new to the whole skincare world, I see many reviewers complaining that this product is sticky, burns, made there skin peel and caused additional breakouts. Let me clarify why this is.
First off this product has Glycolic acid, this ingredient is the exfoliating it penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate cellular turnover (healthier skin formation), so during this time your skin goes through a transitional phase that will include skin peeling, some subtle discomfort, but the good news is its temporary and your skin will be brighter, more even and glowing. Skin has to become worse before it gets better. Results are for the patient.
Bare in mind this product also contains Retinol, so your basically getting double dose overload with temporary side effects such as peeling and subtle discomfort in the beginning, also temporary.
So last but not least salicylic acid, this ingredient treats and prevents future break outs, and with the combined ingredients listed above puts your skin into clarifying overload, this phase is called "purging", your pores are ridding of all the bacteria and dirt thats harvesting beneath the visible layers.
And If you do experience this product being sticky either use less of the product or use less moisturiser or use no moisturiser at all.
NOTE: Side effects of new treatments may last you anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks depending on your skin situation.
Also if anyone owns a clarisonic or does not, your skin also goes through a purging phase due to de-clogging pores.
So I hope this helps people understand the biology aspect of each ingredient.
I've been a professional skincare consultant and makeup artist for years and even I had to go through all these side effects to obtain clear, glowing blemish free skin. Be consistent.

Quick Take: stungs and doesn't help acne at all, not recommended for sensitive skin
I tried it for a week. It doesnt help anything, but made it worse. I had more breakouts, oilier face and causes me more pimples and redness. Whenever i put it on it makes my face stick, and it stings that causes lil bit itchy..i just hated i. For the price you pay, its not even worth a penny. They nust discontinue it.

This stuff is my whole universe. Before him would lye awake at night tossing and turning praying to god to send me a good man. He sent me this. I don't know how I could go on without him I just don't even remember my life before I found this gel. It takes some getting used to so make sure you use it every day and your skin will improve i haven't had a zit in months.

It worked really well when I got it in the Murad 30-day acne kit. It's pretty powerful stuff and smells like there's plenty of alcohol in there, but definitely gets the job done.

Good But Oily
-12.12.12
I only gave this product a 3 because it made my already oily face more oily. I hate that after washing my face and it feeling clean this makes my face dirty. The product does however work. It doesn't exfoliate in the general sense of exfoliating since it is a sticky gel but it really didhelped clear up my skin in conjunction with other Murad products.

Murad is tried and true for my skin, from my twenties to now my forties. I use it every night, right next to my teenage son! Always works no matter what new "improved" product I try.

Harsh, drying, stings
-11.24.12
I have very tough skin with clogged pores around my jawline (my breakouts are hormonal) so this many not have been the best treatment for me. It dried out my skin completely and I'm still peeling and I discontinued use over a week ago. The directions were to use 2-3 times a day. I used this once a day for four days and it still made my skin peel and flake. Sooo disappointed! I love many other murad products however this was a little too harsh for me

Quick Take: exfoliating
I've delt with acne for years, and have always been looking for something like this to help me out. This product is awesome. It clears my skin very well, and helps to reduce swelling of current acne. The only reason I gave it four stars is because it leaves skin with an oily-looking sheen, which I definitely don't need. Other than that, this product does exactly what it states it does and is very good for someone like myself who has moderate acne.

a lifesaver for me
-11.13.12
Quick Take: exfoliating
I didn't have problem skin until I suffered from adult acne early this year. It was frustrating cuz I would have 2-3 big pimples at a time and before they heal, new ones would appear. For someone who didnt go thru acne problems before, the stress it caused made the acne worse. I tried a lot of stuff from gentle to strong, but nothing seemed to help. I changed makeup brands as well. Then a Sephora BA told me to try this gel and it was the best skincare product I ever bought. I use this with any of the cleansers I accumulated and with a good moisturizer, my skin had been pimple free for 3 months now (except for the pimple I get during my monthly period). I can now also use the makeups i falsely accused of making me breakout. It seems pricey, but it'll last u a long time and since its the only thing that helped me with my adult acne --- it's so worth it!

Good stuff!
-10.05.12
If you're going to use the Murad cleanser I hiiiiighly recommend this! I first bought the sample size set with everything in it and slowly began purchasing the full sized bottles. I purchased the exfoliating gel last because I thought I didn't need it; plus it was expensive. I kept using the toner, face wash, and a great moisturizer from Clinique. My face however became very very very rough and dry even with the moisturizer! So then I stopped using the toner, but my face was still very rough. Then I thought, maybe I should buy the exfoliating gel. So then I did! And I don't regret it. This really does help locking in moisture and keeping my skin supple. It also helps with removing acne scars. On the other hand, I have minimal scars and acne, but this whole acne system is great!!!
