I don't like the smell too much but it made my skin so very soft. It took care of my oily and also of my dry flaky spots. Fantastic moisturizer!

works well as moisturizer, would buy again if not for stink factor. my boyfriend says it smells like a combination of gasoline and cat poo. he refuses to sit next to me when i wear it. to me it smells like old rotton oil. i think there must be bad batches going around because some people report the bad smell, some don't. mine smelt real bad when i opened it, but then in the middle it didn't smell bad, and now i am further down the tub and it stinks again...

Quick Take: lasts all day
Before I used this product, my skin was temperamental at best. Some days it was dry, some days it was oily. I had a difficult time finding a product that made my skin feel beautiul. Once I tried Hope in a Jar, I new that I found what I was looking for. My skin is always soft and my makeup feels good on my face. I would recommend this product to anybody that wants to FEEL their skin again.

Quick Take: stinky, greasy
I don't know if I got a bad batch or what...but this stuff stinks! I couldn't put it on my face anymore because I couldn't stand the smell of myself throughout the work day. It is very effective, however, for curing dry feet.

I LOVE THIS STUFF! It not only feels amazing on my skin, but I fell like the texture of my skin has improved since I started using it. The smell is also nice and really subtile, which I like in a moisturizer. All in all, I would highly recommend it!

I have really sensitive skin and this lotion doesn't irritate it at all, its not greasy or anything like that. I love it! Its creamy and feels wonderful when you put it on. Fresh!
I love it! It's super light weight and compact! I can slip it into my purse when I'm traveling or on the go!

Hope in a Jar is the first Philosophy product I had ever purchased. Love it!! My skin feels smoother after every use. It can make the skin feel a little greasy until it soaks in. (Sweating can sometimes make it feel greasy as well. )

Quick Take: lightweight
This is the best moisturizer EVER! I have fair skin that breaks out easily and most products make my skin feel oily. Not this one. The texture and tone of my skin is amazing now. I prefer this versus the one with sunscreen. I apply Shelter after this. The consistency of the one with sunscreen is thicker and doesn't make my skin feel as good.

I like that it's very lightweight, but my first impression was its strong smell....i wish they could make the scent as pretty as the moisturizer is....it appears to be absorbed quickly by my combination type skin and it's not greasy. my only complaint is the smell.

I like this moisturizer. It's not too heavy, but not too light either. I bought this because my skin was extremely dry due to pregnancy and it's usually the complete opposite. This really helped and I didn't break out at all. I do wish the scent was a little better.
pros: nice consistency, not oily cons: strong smell, not good for dry skin
I have dry, sensitive skin. I liked this moisturizer for its consistency, and the fact that it didn't cause me to break out, but it made my dry skin not feel smooth. I think the exfoliating lactic acid didn't agree with my skin. So, I've now switched to the dry, sensitive skin formula, and I love it. Much better for me.

Quick Take: lightweight
Seems to be a good moisturizing cream. Very light, air-whipped. Says its suitable for all skin types. Doesn't appear to absorb quickly, but that may be because it's very light.
