Bare Skin - beautiful nude- 03.10.10

this is a review of Bare Skin... this is a great color... the base color is a warm rosy brown, very sheer.. the shimmer is cool pink and lavender. together it makes a beautiful eyeshadow... like a slightly darker rosier champagne color. It's fairly shimmery, but not too shimmery for everyday. I can't comment on creasing or staying power as I wear this over UDPP which I can't really do without.. over my primer, it stays lovely all day. This is great on my hazel/green eyes.. I usually apply it all over my lid and halfway up my browbone.. then a little darker taupe shadow in the crease, and Urban Decay's Roach liquid eyeliner which I bought at the same time is the perfect finishing touch.. they go together quite well.

Great shimmer, highly pigmented- 03.10.10

I got true gold and pussycat. True gold is amazing, I have fair skin with pink undertones, red hair and green eyes, and this really set my eyes off. I also use it as a cheek highlighter and I tap a little moisturizer over it to make it luminous and dewy. Very pretty. Pussycat, however, was a disappointment. What looks kinda like army green in the picture, is not what it looks like in the container, and even on. It looks like a muddy brown, not appealing on me whatsoever. I even tried to apply it in my crease, and blend, but it just looked bad, even when I blended it with other lighter colors to balance the darkness of it out. I should have gotten queen phyllis...I threw out the return slip so I couldn't exchange it :(

I thought I'd try the bareMinerals eyeshadow and was surprised at how bad it was. The color didn't go on well at all and certainly did not stay on. I'd think twice before buying this because I returned mine!

I've been using the color Queen Phyllis for about a year, but I kept thinking it was too yellow/ashy looking on me. every time I had asked a consultant from Sephora or Bare Escentuals for other recommendations they would always suggest that I stick with Queen Phyllis.
I was looking at teh bareMinerals eye color during my last visit and came across Celestine. It is a neutral, taupy color with a touch of shimmer (which I love) and it looks extremely natural (and less showy than Queen Phyllis) on. Plus, it's a chameleon color - I can wear it under my cool and warm toned eyeshadows.
This is a great color for anyone who has a slightly darker skin tone.
