I purchased the Phytospecific Phytorelaxer Index 2 over two weeks ago after reading every review about this relaxer. I can say is its well worth the $60. I'm so Pleased!! No breakage ,shedding and all the other drama that I have experienced with my 20 plus years of relaxing my hair. Thank you Phyto!!

So far so good. They give you a lot of product to use. Little breakage and my hair feels soft with body. It is worth the $60. It's true you get what you pay for. it is important to adhere to the time schedule they give you. I didn't and ended up burning my scalp. Required 6 washes to neutralize product.
I get the feeling that one box would be good for 3 touch ups because it is so much product. Kinda milky not really thick like other relaxers.

Quick Take: easy to use
This was my first phyto relaxer (index 2) and I am very pleased. My hair has lots of body and sheen. I didnt have to add a thing. I will be using this product from now on. It is expensive but worth it. The only issue was when I was washing the product out I didn't like how my hair felt but once I used the conditoner it changed. I have thick coarse hair and it straigten every bit of my hair even my kitchen!!!

I relax my own hair and have done so for years.My hair is currently shoulder length and my issue with relaxing is that I have a very sensitive scalp,so with applying the relaxer myself,I have to rush before it burns and the effects are underprocessed.I've been using this relaxer for about 8 yrs and although it's very costly,I refuse to try anything else.I'm constantly getting compliments and most think it's my natural texture.That's one of the many things I love,it doesn't get my hair super straight and it's been alot less frizzy.I would definitly recommend this,especially if you self-relax.

I have read a lot about this product from the reviews. I have noticed overall good, but some bad reviews. What I find most peculiar, is that the individuals who have experienced bad results usually have true horror stories to report. It makes me suspicious of this product. I would warn everyone to just be careful. This product, although gentle, is definitely still a chemical and must be treated as such. A strand test should be performed first before applying the relaxer to all of your hair. I think those with fragile, fine hair should be especially careful. One should have a professional apply the relaxer, or at the very least, have knowledge or someone with knowledge apply the relaxer. I would use Index 1 for safety, unless you are certain that your hair strands are strong and coarse. REMEMBER: Conduct a strand test first. It could save you your hair!

It's a great product for a few reasons
1. It doesn't hurt (as much). I don't know that you need any other reasons than that. I have very thick, very coarse hair and by the time my stylist would get through it with another relaxer, I would be on fire. With this, I'm straight by the time I start to feel it.
2. It seems to be easier on my hair. I'm finding less breakage post relaxer than I normailly would with the same post treatments.
It is definitely more expensive than most but if you have a sensitive scalp or thick hair, it's worth it.

I have used this perm for over a year and it is the best thing I have spent my money on. I am one that couldn't use other perms no matter how sensitive they claimed to be, but this perm doesn't burn and my hair always comes out so straight and silky. My husban even thought my hairdresser had added weave in my hair because it was so bouncy.

Too strong- 10.01.09
This relaxer is lovely. I do however think that it is too strong for my fine 4a 4b strands. I will be switching to Index 1. My hair comes out so flat and stringy with this Index. I can say that since switching to Phyto my hair has broken off less, is very shiny, and is less dry. I'm switching to Index 2 because I need more volume and it will probably be less damaging since it doesn't get the hair as straight. This index is good if you want to get BONE STRAIGHT.

Although pricey, this is absolutely the best relaxer that I've ever had. I've had natural hair for approx. 7 years and I thought I would never go back to relaxer's but after reading the reviews of others, I thought I would give this a shot. My hairdresser and myself were amazed at the results. I have not experienced any breakage and 1 month later, I still can't believe how straight it is, yet my hair has a lot of body and is not limp the way other relaxers leave hair. I highly recommend it.

Quick Take: easy to use, you must mix the product well
This relaxer is not as strong as others and I have tried at least 15 diferrent relaxers over 25 years, including kiddie relaxers. My hair doesn't break nor is it weak and lifeless as it was with every other relaxers I tried. My hair is must healthier and is longer than it has ever been as a result of using this relaxer. My hair is also just as straight as when I use the other relaxers.
