this product is amazing I had very bad acne on my cheeks...I went to Sephora they recommened this ..the first time when I tried it made my acne calm and instantly reduced the size and calms my irritated skin....I love this product...

I've used this clay bar twice a week for three weeks now and it's awesome. Makes my face look so fresh and clean. Four stars cause I can't make it thicken up more on my face since its not in a tube. But it's ok. That why you can use this bar forever.

Must have for sensitive skin!!

Quick Take: exfoliating, zero irritation
I have ultra sensitive combination skin, a scratch/bump on face would turn red and swell up for 20 mins. My skin is dry after washing in the morning, and oily before noon; most products I use are recommended by the dermatologist. I use the bar to wash my face, as a mask & have also tried overnight spot treatment on zits. I am pleasantly surprised that it exfoliates very gently with no irritation, leaving my face soft & smooth - which I love! It is difficult to get a good lather for the face w/o other areas starting to dry. Also, slightly messy to use - but depends on your technique/method, and rinses off very easily. I kept the plastic on one end of the bar, wet palm of hand and work a smaller lather at a time applying to face, and afterwards place bar upward allowing it to dry with plastic side on the counter. This is great for little waste, soaking the bar causes it to somewhat melt. After prolong use, I did notice my face feeling slightly dry after washing - not a problem tho, I just have to apply moisturizer afterwards. With overnight spot treatment, it helps to dry out the zit a little bit - definitely not a miracle worker as some other reviews stated. It has helped with my acne prone skin, but have not eliminated the problem. This bar is too $$ for me to use in the shower - a hot shower & wet bar = melting! I will cont. to purchase, bc I love how silky it makes my face and w/ such sensitive skin I am limited to which products I can use. Lastly, love that its all natural >*-*<

there are a few good things about this:
1. I went out on one of the first hotter days with just SPF 15 and my cheeks got a little hot and pink- I burn very easily- and I used this the following morning and it tamed the hot feeling and the rosy look!
2. Easy application! I read some reviews that said it was hard and I don't agree at all...I just wet my fingertips and run the bar and place the "slime" on my face- and keep repeating until my whole face is covered...takes 3 minutes...
3. Clears acne pretty quickly! I use this in conjunction with other products, but my face just seems to clear up from a zit a little faster with this added!
4. Leaves face feeling clean and refreshed!! Not right or stringent- I left this on for an hour one day and was still fine!

Broke me out

Quick Take: organically rough, sandy
This clay bar is great for when you seek smoothness and baby butt skin. It does deliver on that. However, it broke me out, kinda badly. I have dry skin and since it didn't really say how often to use it, I used it daily. Big NO-NO! I had to return it to get a gentler product.

I've been using this bar for a little under a month now, I think it works pretty well, I gave it 4 stars because I haven't used it long enough to give it a full 5 star review. I like how soft it makes my skin feel after rinsing, and it is works as a great mask. I tend to leave it on a bit longer than what the directions say too, but it still works just the same. I'd recommend it to anyone who has combination skin.

Quick Take: exfoliating, calming
I have tried everything, and I do mean everything for my oily, acne prone skin. Everything I have tried has either made me oilier or made my acne worse. I was hesitant to try this because my face was broken out really bad from something else I had tried. So, I gathered up the courage to order this and try it. I thought I had nothing to lose. My acne was already bad. Well, let me tell you,,,,I could tell a difference after the first time I used it. My acne slowly started to heal and the redness definitely diminished! This bar does not dry out my skin at all. I leave it on for a few minutes in the morning. I wet my face and then leave it on for a few minutes while I brush my teeth and put my contact lenses in. I wash it off. In the evening, I leave it on for quite a while. I eventually wash it off, sometimes I leave it on for an hour. My skin is so soft. I was expecting it to be drying. It is not So soft and my skin feels clean. One ingredient, that's it! It's great. I love how it doesn't have all the extra synthetic ingredients in it. My skin recognizes it and knows what to do! It's great. Everyone is different. I recommend ordering and trying it for yourself! But, like I said, I have used everything and this is the only thing that has worked for me! Tip: I just wet the palm of my hand and take the edge of the bar and wipe it across my one hand that is wet. I than apply to my face. I use this at the sink and it is not messy at all! I luv it! Give it a try. I think you will like it!

Only 2 days of using this bar and I already can ser results in my face . My skin has never looked more brighter , cleaner and even feels much much smoother . I can literally see all my pores while I wait in the 5 minutes . Yuck , i know! But its def a keeper and I guess you can say its a reasonable price since it will last you a while. Highly reccomend this to everyone!!

Natural Truth is the way

We are made from and so is the Umbrian Clay bar. Nothing has been added or taken away, it is completely natural to the skin. I have been using it for 8 years. If I slipped up and used something else, the Clay bar would fix the consequences of that mistake every time! It clears, tones and refreshes the skin and worth every penny;-). It is the reason that I found that Sephora existed! It's a great blessing, everyone should try something that is natural and true........

Quick Take: let down
I bought this product with the high hopes that it would be a miracle worker for my recently broken out face. I also had read all the reviews (good and bad) and the good ones made me so hopeful. Well wrong, wrong, and wrong again. I should have been more pessimistic and listened to the "bad" right reviews. It didnt work in fact it made my skin worse, it also dried it out. Thank you Sephora for your excellent return policy. My forty dollars can definitely be better spent else were.

Quick Take: heaven sent, great for oily/combo skin
Yes...I've read all the rave reviews...and yes, I was still skeptical! Could it really work for me? With my combo/oily skin that is having a serious case of hormonal cheek acne? I mean, really?!
But the answer is a resounding YES! What's crazy is, the soap I use removes moisture...and the clay brings it right back! And important: Moisture does not mean OIL!!! It removes oil. Reduces redness.
I've done as all have suggested and only wet the small side and so far, so great. I use it as a mask every day and don't find any issues. Mind you, I do use two oils afterwards! At night, after my clay wash, I will use Organic Virgin Tamanu Oil (I swear...it's AMAZING) and then during the day, I will use the much raved about Marajuca (aka: Passion Fruit Seed) oil. And it's been doing wonders for my skin!! I've had issues with this acne for two yrs now and this combo of items is the only thing that has worked for me! And you can't beat that it's all natural and no BP!!!

I recently moved and ever since then I got oily and alot of acne , then I started using this bar! I use it every night as a mask leave it on until it's dry! It works amazing my skill has never looked better acne is like gone and my skin feels amazing ! This is a must have product for everyone !

I'm giving this bar three stars... I would give it more because it DOES make your pores look smaller and leave your skin skin feeling more refined. Unfortunately, I don't even bother using it that much anymore because it's so difficult to handle. It dries out quickly, so after you moisten the bar and try applying it to your face, you feel like you're scraping your skin with a rock! Hardly any clay comes off and I have to repeatedly wet the bar and reapply over and over just to get some of the product onto my face. It's a great product if you have the patience for it but cleaning your face should not be this difficult :(

Quick Take: exfoliating, pore tightening, oil control
This clay bar is seriously good stuff! I have extremely sensitive acne prone oily skin and have been using before getting into the shower every day and I can really see and feel a difference in skin after two weeks. The skin is brighter, the pores are smaller, the skin on your face is tighter and it dries up and clears any active acne you get! I have been keeping it on for around 4-5 minutes after application and it seems to do the job.
One word of advice for those who have stopped using it after just one application, I think a feature of this product is that it draws out any toxins, acne build up under your skin when you first use it, so you may find you break out more often for around 5-6 days. It happened to me. But I kept using it daily and now my skin has stopped breaking out, feels much healthier and I think the clay treatment is keeping the buildups both under the skin and above it under control.

This is a miracle product! I bought this 2 days ago and have been using it as an overnight spot treatment. I went from having 10 pimples to having just 1 in the matter of 48 hours! I've tried everything. This really works!!!
