I love this lip pencil. It looks really good on my brown skin with golden undertones (but I feel anyone could get away with this color).
When I walked into Sephora, I asked one of the makeup artist if she could help me find a vampy purple lip color. Immediately she brought me the NARS lip pencil, which I really liked. I asked if I could try something else to compare it with, but I ended up liking the NARS pencil much better.
It's super easy to use because it's a lip pencil and lipstick in one, so you don't even need to buy a lip liner.
I suggest buying a jumbo pencil sharpener, if you don't already have one, when you do pick this up.
Also, the first night I wore this, I went to a party, and the lip color lasted all night. It barely faded and I was drinking from cups throughout the night.

Quick Take: long wearing
This is the best lip product I've ever used. Just don't forget to take it off before you go to bed after a night out drinking -- it'll get everywhere and you'll wake up looking like you ate a horse's heart (+1 if you get the reference).

I love how the color is buildable and the perfect texture, but it does run out fairly quickly. I bought dolce vita. I was surprised it came out coraly on my darker skin, but it is a beautiful and really unique color. I cant wait to try more colors.

Wow. There's a reason why folks LOVE this lip pencil. The color payoff is amazing. The formula leaves lips feeling moisturized. I think I may have to purchase at least 1 of each color.

I usually don't use pencil lipsticks however, I am becoming a fan. This is a great neutral shade which you can layer another colour or keep it simple. It doesn't feel "matte-y" on the lips either.

Love the shade- it's natural yet definitive- and love the pencil. Color stays on A LONG time and does so without drying. I put Burts Bees lip balm on before I apply to soften my lips a bit and find this is the best thing to do before applying. My new favorite.

Quick Take: long wearing
I'm very fair--unless it's summer and I've had the pleasure of vacationing, I'm not even a shade 20 in chanel or makeup forever. Cruella works great on me, and requires minimal concealing and perfecting of the skin, even though it is quite bright. Normally with such a bold color you have to be a little more cautious about the look of your skin when wearing it, but cruella has really wonderful berry tones and is not too orange.
The woman who sold it to me was of African heritage. She had rich, beautiful black skin. She wore it herself, and recommended it to me for a special event look I was going for. I got a lot of compliments at the event on it, and wear it frequently since then, and always get positive feedback on the color. I've loaned it to friends or let them use it, of varying skintones, and it always looks great.
If you use it lightly as a stain and really work it in to your lips before lining with it and filling in richly, it will last much longer and won't get an lipliner only look over time. It's important to take the time to do that--it will work most of the day for you if you take the time to do it. I find I only hvae to touch up after EATING. Drinking a few cocktails it will usually stay put and doesn't even end up on the glass.
In case you are looking for an overall look to wear with Cruella, here's what I usually wear:
- makeup forever face & body foundation
- makeup forever concealer under the eyes, on the sides of the nose, and in the crease of my prominent chin
- becca highlighter in pearl (because I am very pale) around the eye socket and brow bone, on the bridge of the nose, and along the line of the top lip, in the center
- benetint in the rose color on the apples of my cheeks, blended well
- benefit hula very lightly for contour below the blush to create higher cheekbones
- makeup forever aqua cream #13 warm beige all over the lid
- lorac eyeshadow from the unzipped palette, "unreal" and "unbelievable" to create contour at corner in a smoky shape, even though it is very light, and into the crease
- cruella on the lips!

I find benetint in the rose color is the right hue to go with cruella for anyone who is wearing it, so long as you do not have very dry skin, as benetint can be difficult to work with if you do not have sufficient moisture.

I love matte lipsticks and have been looking for one that is not too drying for my lips. When a friend recommended NARS to me, I tried the damned colour and instantly fell in love! I absolutely love it. It stays on all night, and keeps my lips moisturized. So far I have bought damned (perfect for a night out), dolce vita (perfect for the day time) , and cruella (amazing red) & I love all of them. Can't wait to buy the rest of them! Thanks you NARS and thank you Sephora !!

I bought this in Bolero, and the color is so pretty! BUT when I put it on it accentuates every single line and flaw that I have on my lips. Even when put I put on balm first, it looks really dry. I wanted to like this but I will have to return it, maybe the satin lip pencil will look better.

I am satisfied but it is NOT long lasting but it does NOT melt while in your purse.
My major complaint with Sephora is that you don't carry OUIDAD moisturing shampoo & moisturing conditioner any more!!

Love love LOVE this color for my very skin! Not too brown, not too pink...perfectly nude and luscious. Color does have to be reapplied frequently, but the smoothness and velvety texture is worth it. HIGHLY recommended!

Purchased in Dragon Girl. LOVE the bright vibrant color. Amazed at the long wearing capability. Had it on all day and even after lunch it stayed put. Not drying at all - still kept my lips moisturized. Love it!
