Mmmmmm...it smells yummy. You will wish you could eat it if that makes any sense lol I'm a fan of soft floral scents which this is not at all soft or floral but it's just so unique (in a good way) I can't help but like it. The only reason I took off 1 star is because it is very strong. I recommend using the "misting technique" (spray it into the air above your head and let the droplets fall on you and/or spray in front of you and walk into the mist). The effect is a softer more delicate way to wear a very strong perfume without offending anyone within smelling distance. Yes you can buy the eau de toilette instead of eau de parfum which is a watered down version but be warned toilet water has no staying power. Invest in the eau de parfum and mist yourself. It's worth it.

I tried this perfume in a Sephora store a while ago and I loved it. Last Christmas I offered it to my sister and she was very impressed. I had an issue with the packaging, but this was solved by Sephora's customer service right away. I will definitely keep buying all my perfumes from Sephora.

I love oriental floral perfumes with vanilla and I have read so many positive reviews about Classique, so I was very much looking forward to trying this. But on the first spray, I was very disappointed. It’s extremely powdery and so strong. Mixed in with the powder, I could smell something spicy that could be the rum essence and the star anise, but after that spiciness fades and some floral middle notes appear, the powder is still as strong as ever. It’s relentless.
As someone who is not a fan of powder in her perfumes, I was not enjoying this scent at all. Someone in another review wrote that she could imagine a ball of powder wafting around her, and I completely agree. No matter if I was walking or sitting, all I could smell was powder. It was so strong! I will say that it is very feminine and pretty, but my personal dislike for powder had me praying for the fragrance to fade.
After a couple hours, I began to smell the base note of amber, which made it smell warmer and more alluring. The powder still remained as the amber and musk came through, but the perfume suddenly became sexier, which I didn’t feel like this perfume was before I could smell the base notes. After hours of wear, I finally smelled some vanilla on my skin, and it was gorgeous.
As the name “Classique” suggests, there is something “old school” about this perfume. It’s not one of those fresh, citrusy contemporary fragrances. It’s sensual and womanly. It’s something I would imagine women at the Moulin Rouge would wear in their boudoirs. This is something that I would only wear in the bedroom (where I actually enjoy smelling powder) because I would not be able to stand the powder wafting around me everywhere I went all day and night.
I don’t recommend this as an everyday scent. People either love it or hate it, but I have a love-hate relationship with it. I love the last hour when I finally smell the vanilla, but it’s not worth me hating the first several hours when the powder chokes me. I also asked my boyfriend what he thought and he said that it was just “okay”; my sister kept asking me to move away from her.
It’s very strong—I only put one spritz directly on my wrist and it lasted all day. I smelled it on my coats and cardigans days later and it smelled beautiful because the powder wasn’t so strong. So if the powder would have just calmed on my skin, I could see myself wearing this very very often and feeling sexy. I will not be buying this perfume, but if you like powder, amber, white florals, and vanilla, give it a try.
Also, I don’t get why some people complain about the bottle or think it’s too provocative. I think the bottle is beautiful, unique, and captures the womanly, feminine essence of this perfume.

Quick Take: good value, beautiful bottle
This is a beautiful, feminine fragrance, but it's also sexy and unique. This will never be mistaken for a body spray or a celebrity assembly line fragrance. If you truly love perfume, this is one of the rare fragrances that still stands out in the crowd.

Love this fragrance!! It is sooo romantic, sexy, and classy at the same time. it's a nice solid scent that last but is not overpowering at all. It really makes me feel really feminine and sexier when I wear it and my fiance absolutly loves it! if you are looking for a great romantic fragrance this is definetly for you!

I spritzed this on in the store after reading all of the glowing reviews found here and on other sites.
At first the scent was a bit "mature". I tried on the EDT version of this as well as the EDT of "Classique X". Hated them. I found them too spicy and almost soapy smelling for my tatste. They smell cheap and remind me of Glade plug-ins.
After about an hour or so the scent of this EDP really started to mellow and became divine. I haven't been able to stop smelling my wrist and I originally put it on about 5 hours ago. It's definitely a warm fragrance with a touch of sweetness. It is not cloying or obnoxious and I think once it dries and mixes with ones body chemistry a bit the stuffy mature smell becomes intoxicating and downright sexy! It's kind of reminiscent of Euphoria by Calvin Klein but better. For some reason it conjures up an image of a confident sexy business woman for me -suit, heels, red lipstick and all.
It's seductive, warm, inviting ... I love it.

Quick Take: warm, seductive, feminine, sexy, unique
JPG Classique is just one of those darlings that I don't think I can ever let go.
I think I read someone on here write this - and it was definitely true - the bottle design of the perfume is very faithful to the scent. So what does that mean? We see the hour-glass figure of a woman ... and I think we can agree that it's not possible for a woman's body to be more feminine than that. This is the body type that transgenders will have a hard time achieving, even with surgeries; because the hourglass, whether it's as extreme as in this bottle design or more subtle as it is for most women today, is what defines a woman's body. So, to me this means that ... this scent defines sexy femininity to the max.
Now, to the scent... this is not a light, fresh scent... this is not an innocent, youthful scent... this is not a modern scent either ... and here we see the name is just as faithful to the scent as the bottle - "Classique." This perfume takes you back in time, to an era we see in movies, where we see pretty women and imagine living in that time, and wearing those extravagant dresses and old-fashioned hairstyles (am I the only one who does that?) ... but it doesn't leave you stuck there - because our nose still enjoys the scent. A lot of times, the older classic perfumes like Shalimar are not attractive to modern women because our tastes evolve over time, and some perfumes can't keep up with that. Classique, however, does. Not to diss Shalimar, it is still enjoyed by women, even younger ones - but they are a minority. Shalimar does not represent the taste of women in 2011. Classique does for obvious reasons - it is not old - it was launched in the 90s, and I think it captures our imagination for what we envision women of past eras to smell like. I can't think of any perfume on the market today that smells like this, and if there is, it would just be a ripoff of this one. Classique is warm, quite heavy, sweet, and it is seductive... not an every-day scent, something for the night and special dates (would be kind of yucky to smell on someone in the early morning) ... and it's definitely best worn by women who are confident in being very feminine and sexy, because it's so bold. But if you remember to wear Classique like a classy lady should, and spray just a little - it is going to be the most divine, alluring, best scent ever. If you overdo it, you will overwhelm people, for the same reason that we think "too much" when a girl wears a mini dress so short that we see things we really don't want to see when she bends over, or when huge cleavage pops in your face when you just wanted to enjoy the view behind the lady. It's too much .. you try too hard ... it's cheap ... stop. With this perfume, just keep that in mind - and you can't go wrong.

I have plenty of perfumes, but the minute I bought this one thats it. It was over for that lol. One of the best perfumes I've ever worn. It has a light but long lasting semi sweet smell. Def a man magnet lol :-)

I am really picky when it comes to perfumes and it is really hard for me to find one that I LOVE. THIS IS THE BEST PERFUME EVER!! I want to put it on all day long.
The nice thing about it is that it lasts. Obviously its the strongest when you first put it on by even mid to end of day there is still some lingering on. Best purchase ever!!

I understand that perfumes are very personal. I've tried out many, and even when I don't like them, have never felt compelled to write a negative review. I can usually appreciate that other people might like it even though I don't.

If you're considering buying it- please- try it out in the store.
For reference, I love Burberry London, Versace Bright Crystal, Chancel Chance eau Fraiche, and Nina Ricci Nina.
