Only primer for oily skin!
-08.08.11
Quick Take: mattifying, smoothing, long-wearing, long-lasting, shine control
So, most people love the Smashbox Photo Finish line of primers, which use silicone to smooth out the skin and control minimal oil. However, if you're one of the few lucky people, like myself, you have very oily skin. If you've got very oily skin and use a silicone-based primer, the oily slip plus the silicone slip melts your makeup even faster. However, Anti-Shine is silicone free. It uses Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, a refined version of silica, which is a mineral that an excellent absorber. Also a little of this goes a very long way! Totally recommend.

Does it's job
-08.03.11
Quick Take: non-cakey, long lasting
I like this product. I usually use oil blotting papers to remove any access oil before I put this product on. Then my fav Nars foundation and finish with Urban Decay De-slick powder. Works at least for 6 hours, then I have to blott my face a little in T zone. Which I think is normal, as you will never find a product that will completely keep you anti shine all day for 8-10 hours.

Worth Every Penny
-07.31.11
Quick Take: portable, powder format, non-cakey, natural looking, anti-shine, low maintenance, foundation alternative
I use this product every day for my super oily skin after I finish putting on my makeup. It seriously reduces shine and sets the rest of my makeup. If I'm having a low-key kind of day, I'll wear it alone, instead of foundation, just to keep the oil at bay. I don't know what I'd do without this product.

Finally!
-07.30.11
Quick Take: cream to powder finish
I have been questing for an anti-shine product that worked as well as Mary Kay's oil mattifier. I have tried Boots Expert Matte, Medi-Matte, Pur Minerals Under Control, powder, blotting papers... to name a few. Constantly touching up with powder throughout the day to avoid the shine.
I saw this when I was ordering on-line. I couldn't have been happier with the results. My make-up stays put without the shine. Yes, it seems a bit pricey but in only takes a dab on your finger to cover your chin and nose.

i'm on what feels like an endless quest for a shine/oil control product to keep my makeup from becoming an oily mess by the end of the work day. this product is a littlr tricky to work with. you have to let it dry completely before applying any makeup or it will cake up over it. also, i could really figure out how to apply it. i was told to pat it on, but that left white patches on my face, no matter how little i used.
i could have overlooked all these things, but the fact is that this didnt work for me. no matter how much or how little i used. it didnt keep me shine-free. period. i was encouraged by the tight feeling you get when you apply it, but i still got as shiny as usual.
i might be judging this product unfairly-- i am looking for something that i can apply under my foundation to PREVENT me from getting shiny. its possible that this product is supposed to be applied when you are already shiny, but i have pressed poweder for that. if you're looking for something to take your existing shine away, maybe this will work for you. if you're looking for something to prevent shine, this didnt do the trick for me.

100 Degrees Temps and Still No Shine
-07.26.11
Quick Take: portable, non-cakey
I can't believe this product works as well as it does. I was very skeptical that it could keep the shine away. In 100 degree weather, with humidity, my normally oily skin was as matte as can be. I would usually resort to washing my face repeatedly, toning, re-applying my powder foundation, mineral veil, and liberally using my blotting sheets. All that was unnecessary with this product. It's life changing! Just apply it lightly so that it doesn't "roll" off or become sticky. A dab will do ya. And I didn't even break out after, and my skin is sensitive. A must-try.

Good for oily skin
-06.30.11
This is my second time buying this. I have an oily T-zone area and this helps control some of my oil. I use this on my nose, forehead and chin. Then I use another primer for the rest of my face (i love the hourglass mineral primer). I found the the combination of the two works best for me. It's kind of pricey for the small tube but I keep coming back to it because I havent found another primer that helps control my oil as much as this product. Also, even though its a small tube, it does last a long time because you only need a tiny bit. It's not life changing but it certainly does help control oil/ shine than some of the other primers I've tried.

Essential for Summer
-06.22.11
Quick Take: portable, non-cakey
I wear this all Summer long under my makeup in the spots where I tend to perspire (forehead, and chin). It keeps my mineral makeup from forming goopy clumps, and lets my skin look fresh all day long, even when I'm in outside in the sun. I always apply a tiny bit first, before my moisturizer, making sure it dries first. Then, when adding tinted moisturizer over it, I pat it over the places where I've applied the anti-shine, so it doesn't smear. Nothing else on the market works as effectively for me.

Tried and True
-06.15.11
Quick Take: portable, non-cakey, make up saver!, time saver, great value!
This product is a MUST HAVE for me -- I have tried so many primers, and so many anti-shine products, this one is like a super concentrated anti shine. I LOVE it! If you have oily skin like I do, or even combination skin, this will control the shine better than any other product out there -- at any price!

Only product that works
-06.07.11
I have tried murad and urban decay de-slick in a tube. They both didn't work. I tested it by putting the product on only half of my face and I didn't see any difference at all throughout the day, still oily. Smashbox anti-shine was the only thing that did work. I still get a little shiny but you could actually see an improvement with this product. Like the other reviewers said, it does flake off if you put too much on and rub it too much. It's better to dab a little on where you need it.

Eliminates Shine, for a while
-06.07.11
Quick Take: powder-gel
It works great when first applied, and immediately removes shine. It seems that it would need to be a product kept in my purse because reapplication is necessary to keep any shine under control. Typically it seems to last 3-4 hours for me before I would need reapplication. The other nice thing is that, it may be almost $30, but a little goes a long way, so it will last a long time.

Really wanted to like this
-06.05.11
Quick Take: powder format
When doing my face routine, I put on my moisturizer, then this product, then my foundation. I have extremely oily skin, yet this product seemed to completely roll up into tiny balls right as I put my foundation on. It looked like my skin was peeling and shedding! I tried this out two more times, and it still did the same thing.

-06.01.11
This product does nothing for me. As with the Urban Decay de-slicker, I've tried all the possible ways to wear this product with makeup and powder and within an hour of makeup application, I can't tell that I'm using an anti-shine product. I won't be purchasing this again.

You're shine-free.... for 4 hours, max.
-06.01.11
Quick Take: portable, creme/gel texture, a little goes a long way
Nicely textured. Goes on smooth. Dries to a matte finish. But with my extremely oily skin, I'm usually shining like Rudolph by lunchtime. Expensive, but not the holy grail; it's the best Ive found so far.

Quick Take: powder format, portable, non-cakey
I have naturally really oily skin and this was recommended to me because i did not want to keep caking on powder to cut the shine. I love it. It's a gel but as soon as you rub it in it turns into a powder almost. It really does absorb the oil and shine on your face. The only negative is i wish it lasted longer but for my oily skin nothing lasts all day so i do have to reapply mid day and then again before i go out at night but it does seem to last the longest of anything i've used before.

Quick Take: portable, non-cakey, wonderful
They say when you get older your skin gets drier. Whomever, "they" are...they lied. I have tried every many different products on the market to help keep my skin shine free. I've tried Bliss, Clinique, Derma Doctor...Iv'e tried matte oil absorbing foundations and of course, oil blotting papers. NONE of these worked for more that a couple of hours at the most. I read about this product after reading a review from Paula Begoun's cosmetics cop website. Whatever is in this product is a miracle for me. I will always use this product!! I put it on before my make up and I'm set for the day. What a difference!

product teased me
-05.14.11
Quick Take: smooth, no oil control
First day i bought this product, i tried it on my nose and it worked for the rest of the night. But the day after, i put it on for school, and i had to constantly put more on because my T-zone became oily. I returned the product, and it seems that it has made my nose even more oily without even using it.

-05.13.11
Quick Take: powder format, portable, non-cakey
This product is a life saver for long nights out when you don't have time to constantly check if you're shiny or not! I have normal/sensitive skin, but after wearing make up for a while I get oily unless I wear this gel under my make up. I put it on right after my Smashbox primer and before any concealer/foundation/powder. Love it!

Best Anti-Shine Product!
-05.12.11
Quick Take: powder format, portable, non-cakey
I love this product! This is the 2nd tube. I do see some oil after many hours but this is still the best anti-shine product that I have ever used. One tube can last for 3 months for almost everyday use. The tips are:
1. Use a small amount at a time because it drys very fast - I just need about 4 dabs for whole face.
2. Apply one layer on the face - once absorbed, it doesn't blend.
