I am someone who works out every morning and work up a sweat! So I wear pretty strong antiperspirants usually. What I hate the most about antiperspirants is the feeling you get on your fingers when you wash your underarms in the shower. And the residue that builds up on your razor blade. So I tried this because I wanted something more natural and I didn't think a strong antiperspirant was needed. This deodorant is great! I have the pure vanilla in a full size and travel size. The first time you apply it, it can be hard to apply. But after the first use it glides on easily! Smells great and lasts almost all day! Will be repurchasing again and again!

Not for me
Everyone's body chemistry is different and this isn't the worst or best natural deoderant I've tried - but if you're not using it daily, I wouldn't buy it - it tends to dry out in it's canister (even closed tightly) before I can get to the bottom.

This works better than clinical strength antiperspirant, and it doesn't leave a reside like my antiperspirant, so I can shave more easily, and the skin is less irritated. I stay fresh all day, one application. I have the summer scent, and it smells a bit starchy, plant-like, but overall pleasant, and not strong. Love it!

A friend of mine swears by this deodorant, so I decided to grab a travel size to try out since I was running out of my usual go-to deodorant.
I didn't go in with super high expectations. I'm a bit of a sweater--if I'm not using anti-perspirant, my pit stains can be seen from space. But I was willing to give the pit-stained life a chance for the sake of using something more natural and body-friendly.
I tried it on a cool day in Portland. It wasn't supposed to go above 65, and I knew I wasn't going to be doing any heavy-duty working out during the day, so it seemed like a great tester day. I opened the tube and was surprised to find that it smelled nothing like vanilla (my signature fragrance is Lavanila's Vanilla Coconut, so I thought they knew what they were doing with vanilla scents!). It smelled like straight baby powder. I shrugged it off and tried it anyway.
First: It doesn't glide on. I don't know if the one I got was stale or what, but it was rough and uneven to apply to my totally clean, freshly-showered-and-shaved pits.
Second: I could smell myself within three hours. And I could smell the weird baby powder odor. It was a pretty gross combination. Thankfully, my office keeps deodorant in the bathrooms for emergencies like these.
I don't even want to think about how this would've performed on an honest-to-god hot day, or at the gym. But I won't be trying another of these deodorants, so I guess I'll never know.
I've used several different brands of natural deodorant and all formulations of Lavanilla has the best texture by far. It isn't sticky or overly wet, it is lightweight, and it goes on clear. I tried the Pure Vanilla scent first and completely love it. It smells wonderful - and the scent/odor protection lasted all day in Atlanta's summer heat and humidity. Then I ordered the Cozy Comforts mini trio to try more scents- it came with the original, Vanilla Coconut, and Vanilla Blackberry. I didn't expect to like the coconut, but I really do. On me, it smells fairly similar to the original. I thought I would love the blackberry but...ugh. It made me smell like a hot dumpster. I had to wash it off after 10-15 minutes because the smell was strong and unbearably bad. I'm glad Sephora has such a good return policy. It really is all about body chemistry with these. I'm hooked on the scents I liked and will continue to try some of the other scents in the future.
